We went back to Ia. to visit relatives last weekend and we hardly saw any RV's on the road. I don't think kids are in school yet. Is it the economy? Maybe the blasted heat! Just curious. Craig

Come on out to Oregon. Theres plenty of them on the weekends. State parks are booked solid till Labor Day. We have yet to camp anywhere that wasn't 95% full on the weekends. Mid week is slow but thats the norm here.

Price of fuel and gas maybe keeps people in the CG's longer instead of driving from one area to another.

I've seen plenty of rigs on the road (in our neck of the woods) and more importantly in the campgrounds, where it is rare that there are available sites on the weekends. It could be the economy but that hasn't changed much in the last couple of years. The heatwave in parts of the country might be playing a larger role, but who can really say as there are a variety of factors that might keep RVers home. We'll keep camping and adjust to the changing times as well as we can, since it's still more economical (and fun) to use our rig than hotel rooms. Happy camping!!!

I have driven on interstate 5 between Sacramento and Redding twice in five days. They are out in full force up here in Northern California. Had two Fifthwheels pass me doing 75 mph to my surprise!. It's been amazing to see all the RVs and families on the road!
