Septic tanks have a minimum of 2 chambers (some have 3) so that the inrush of sewage does not disturb the second chamber which spills into the leach line.
Take a large family getting ready to go to work & school in a morning. 3 toilets flushing, 2 showers running & a tub full dumping, with a kitchen sink running and maybe a vanity sink too. Probably more inrush than a 40 gal. black tank and then a 45 gal gray tank. Septic systems are designed to handle it.

For the past eleven plus years we have used a macerator and 1 inch hose to dump our tanks into a septic system 90 feet away on level ground. We do this one month in the spring and one month in the fall. Never a problem. There is a T or a Y sweep in the line from the house to septic tank. Maybe a one inch line takes a bit longer to dump but might put less stress on the tank than a 3 or 4 inch MH line.

Yes, you can use a "sanitary" Y, but not a standard Y.

Everyone has been right on---do not connect to a field line and use a sanitary y to connect to the line going into the tank.

If this septic system is not more than 10 years old there may be a clean out between the house and the septic tank. Mine is about 25 feet from the house and is hidden by the grass. Remove the cap/plug on the clean out, if the system has one, and connect your sewer hose at this point. This would duplicate what you are doing in a RV park that has a septic system. I use a Rhino hose that has a threaded adapter to seal to the clean out. My shop/RV garage is set up this same way except the clean out is in the floor between one of the floor drains and the toilet.

Thanks for all the experience in those posts. Great news it CAN be done. Septic is not more than 5 years old and septic company reliable and should be thoroughly knowledgeable. Family friend now an 80 year old widow in renovated (first-rate job) farm house on beautiful 5 acres near Chesapeake Bay in VA. She gets lonely and winters are depressing. Family comes and goes but not enough to put any big impact on her septic. We all have dogs and we all NEED our own space. Legal/zoning even in what is called Bay Act area seems to be OK as long as done on property with permanent dwelling (stick built or mfg home). Would not do anything to put her septic at risk so your advice in advance really appreciated.

Not sure I understand "It can be done" to tap into the field is NOT a good thing it WILL clog up the leach field and the repair is to dig it all up.

The ONLY safe way is to dump into the clean-out or into the septic tank.

If the distance to the clean-out or septic tank is to far you can use a macerator at the RV.

Just make sure you use non-formaldehyde chemicals in the holding tanks. Any one of the tank treatments that aid in breaking down waste and toilet paper are the best for septic systems.

If the OP has ANY doubts about what can or can not be done, I strongly recommend contacting the County Extension Service, or the septic system installer, or the County Sanitarian's Office. No doubt there are Municipal, County, and/or State rules, laws, and/or codes that MUST be complied with.

I have a concrete septic holding tank near the house that pumps to the septic tank further out. So, if I understand, I can dig down and Y or T into the line from the house?

Being lazy, I'd rather put a drain cap into the concrete that is above ground and part of the holding tank. Now I have to lift a very heavy lid...there are no knockouts. Is there a way to cut a hole in the lid?
