DW and I have been eating healthy lately. Last night I got creative as well. Bought a bag of Brussel sprouts and split each one length wise. Sprayed them with olive oil pan spray and grilled. About 5 min/side. Now the kicker. While they were grilling I combined 3 TBSP. Steen's Cane Syrup with about 2TBSP Balsamic vinegar and blended well. To that I sprinkled garlic and onion pdr and blended. When sprouts were done we dipped them in the sauce and..AAAEEE. C'est Bon!! Steve

I have some new "fire wire" (skewer) and think I will be grillin' me some sprouts in the next few days. Sounds wonderful. I love them baked, boiled, broiled and about any other way, so grilled will probably be good, too.

Sounds great. I tried just searing them in the frying pan the other day and could never get them tender. But I split them width wise, not length wise. I'll try them on the grill next time. Loved the sauce.

I have always loved them. Mom used to call them "baby cabbages". If you have ever had a "tater tot casserole", Mom used to make something like it using the Brussels sprouts instead of the tater tots. It tasted like stuffed cabbage. She was a funky cook who used whatever she had to feed us on the cheap. I miss her so much.

I've tried grilling them, baking them, etc., but never could never get fresh brussel sprouts tender enough until I started boiling them for a few minutes first. Helps a lot. I've loved them all my life and my mom also called them "baby cabbages". My wife puts crumbled bacon and olive on them before putting them under the broiler.

We boil them to get tender, slice them, place them on Aluminum foil, sprinkle with olive oil, grate some hard parmesian cheese on them and bake for 10 to 15 minutes.....gooood

I slice the sprouts, then steam them to just before tender, then saute or grill them. Mmmm....

I've never had a problem getting them done enough for us if they are halved. We often spray them with olive oil, out of a can, and then sprinkle with garlic powder, salt and pepper, then grill in a basket until they show a lot of brown.

Boy that sounds great Sdagro! I sometimes slice them as thin as I can and separate into "threads". Then when all the rest of dinner is ready, I do a quick saute in a little olive oil. It only takes a minute or two, you know when they turn brilliant green. Then a quick splash of a good balsamic, salt & pepper.
