Hello friends,
The genset is a 5500 Marguis, gas.
I just installed a new fuel pump on my genset. I did this because it was not working. Now I have gas to carb. I have drained the bowl several times. But not getting gas to sparkplug. If I spray carb cleaner into carb it will fire up for a second then die. I am not a mechanic so be gental with your advice. I am out now trying to get this finished. And I need to do it myself because of money issues.
I thank you all so much for your advice.

It sounds like you jets are clogged up. If there is spark then it is likely to be a fuel problem of either too much (flooded) or too little which could mean dirt in the fuel that has got into the carburettor and clogged the small passages inside the carburettor which would then mean a cleanout.

Before you spend money on the a new carb pull the carb bowl off your current carb and give everything inside there a good wash with an aerosol carb cleaner. It sounds like the jet that the float opens and closes is stuck shut. If you can remove that jet and give it a good cleaning that may be all you need. If you cannot remove it give it a good wash and work it up and down a few times to try and dislodge it. If you are going to purchase a new carb try "SearsPartsDirect" online. They have a pretty good selection of small engine parts there. You will need the Onan part number for your carb to search.

Unfortunetly the carb is a non serviceable carb so I would have to buy a new one. I have been using carb spray to see if I could get anything to loosen up but no suck luck.
