We will be coming down the east side of Lake Tahoe in a 36ft class A, two dogs and a toad, we would like to spend a couple nights in a good RV park with FULL hook-ups, we can do either 30 or 50 amps and so far we have yet to read a review of a camp that is encouraging. Can anyone offer a camp from experience...after 15 months on the road in some rugged terrain we are looking for comfort at this one. Many thanks.

There is only one Rv park on the east side of lake tahoe with full hook ups. That is the one at Zeffer (sp) Cove. We found that park to be small, crowded, near a very busy intersection, and the parking spaces are fairly uneven. We stay at the encore park in south lake tahoe, lake tahoe valley rv park. It has a good number of spaces, accessible to all lake activities, has full hook ups, easy access, and reasonable accommodations. It's pricey but really the only one with full hook ups and close to the lake. If you can go without full hookups, nevada beach has a good campground but no hookups. No good choices but a great place to visit.

We prefer Zephyr Cove to the very fine pervasive dirt at Tahoe Valley Campground (we were just there and left early).

Both have full hookups. Between July 1 and September 1 Zephyr Cove is usually full on weekends.

I stayed there in mid June of this year. Super clean. They have a crew there raking and picking up pine cones and needles. Normally I can find small pieces of wood to start my fire. Not here. Everything is clean and sanitized. Maybe a bit too clean.

Other than that, it is in a central location, near the lake, nice beach across the street. Thinking of taking your dog to the beach? Forget it. They do not allow it and they make certain you know it.

My advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

As others have mentioned, I like Zephyr Cove too.

Cheers!

Note: At Zephyr Cove you can take your dog to the water/beach.

But you have to walk to the end of the beach parking lot and then follow the forest trails beyond the Zephyr cove lease rights. Quite pretty and convenient away from the crowds and boats. There are picnic tables out there as well.

Don't know how far 395 in Reno is out of your way, but the Grand Sierra Resort Casino has full kook up park that I believe takes pets. Our friends stayed there and really liked it. They gave every discount imagine able too.
When our son came from Afghanistan in July, we met him there and for $20 more than the Rv park, we got a room with big shower, robes, pool and spa on site, and lots of the stuff we have missed after almost 1 yr book docking!
We are hosting near Truckee,Ca. at a c.g that is so far out a bad road at 7800' elev, that they bring us water, fresh veggies and milk when they come get the camp $$$ each week. We drove in once and will drive out once with the RV, but we did venture to Reno in our toad.
