We are full-timers and travel all over the country. We use Verizon MiFi unit that has 4G and it works great. It is a very secure way to go and we do most of our business on it and communication with friends and family. What is really nice about it is that you can use several devices on it at the same time. Good Luck!

We have the Verizon 4G USB air card, cost $50 a month for 5MB. Have never exceeded the 5MB, but we don't do any movies or high data stuff, just mostly email and Facebook.

Bought a Cradlepoint cellular router that creates both a hot spot 300ft around the coach to connect the netbook or Kindle, and you can also hard wire a desktop with Cat5 cable.

Internet via Verizon or cell phone is too expensive for me. I usually wait until I am at a CG with free WiFi or go to a hot spot such as Panara Bread or McDonalds. Libraries are also good. They will allow you to hook up or use their computers.

We use a Verizon MiFi. We pay 60 month but can suspend service when we are not on the road. If you get it 2 year commitment, the suspension time is just added to the end of the term. You can use up to 5 computers, ipads, etc. at a time. Ours is over 2 years old so it is a 3G model.

We also use the Jetpack...works great stationary or mobile and as J-Rooster said, you can connect multiple devices to it...we have an Ipad, laptop, Iphone and even our printer on it. we get by on 6gb, but we also use campground wifi whenever possible to help save on the 6gb.

We use the Iphone personnel hotspot capabilty with AT&T. Since I already had the $30 a month data plan, going to the $50/mth 5GB with personnel hot spot amounted to an added cost of $20 to get my internet capability. It works great when we are in cell phone coverage. However it appears Verizon has a wider number of areas with 4G capability. When my contract is up I'll be switching over. Thinking we'd save money we did try Truconnect which uses the Sprint network. Big mistake. If you are using the internet in your RV a lot, the cost quickly gets much more expensive than either AT&T or Verizon and it seemed we were always out of cell service.

We started out using Fox Fi with the one smart phone we had. But with both of us on line we figured we best get a MIFI device. Went to T-mobile cause they had a pay as you go plan......BIG mistake. On a trip from Tx to Pa and then back across to Ark. service was very spotty at best. Even in metro areas it was not very good. So went into Verizon and wife had to upgrade her phone anyways so we lost our unlimited data on the the one phone. But now they do a block of data for all your phones and devices. We got a jetpack and are very pleased with it. We got service where the T-mobile did not. We used it going down the hwy. When they say you can suspend it, that is only the monthy rate of $20 for the device. You can move your data plan back though, we went from 6G's back to 2 G's when not on the road and will bump it up when we travel again.

My Verizon Droid has Mobile Hotspot $50/mo for 6 GB I think, doesn't matter have never come close to the limit. What I like is that I can turn it on or off at will on the Verizon website. When we are moving around a lot I turn it on for a month or so and when we park for a while I turn it off and use local WiFi. It's nice to not have to pay for a full year when you only need a couple of months.

Verizon Mi-Fi. Just got the 4G. Used the 3G all over the US with no problems. If you have a cell signal you will get internet (speeds vary). We got Verizon wireless at home and used it there too so didn't have to pay for internet at home. We also got rid of our land line phone and went wireless.

Virgin Mobile $35/month, month-to-month, no contracts. Works for us.
