This past year or so has not been a good one with my relationship with GSC. I had a fender bender last year, not a big one, maybe around 2k+-. I've had GS Ins. since 2005 with no claims/accidents. When I recieved my renewal I was shocked to find that my new rate was very close to DOUBLE that of my previous rate.
I cancelled immediately when there was no adjustment offered. This past week, I cancelled my extended service policy, which I've had since 2005.
In Nov. I will have been a licenced driver for 50 yrs. In all those years I have NEVER had an insurance company work so hard to deny a claim! More than 6 phone calls and 2 supervisors later, they paid $142.
If they fought that hard to save $142, I figured I could kiss any big claims goodbye. Only thing good is roadside assistance. I'll be posting this on the forum
OK, If Good Sams club has nothing to do with good Sam's Insurance why does one have to go through Good Sam's club to obtain it? When you see the advertisements for Good Sam's Ins, it is always accompanied with the Good Sam's LOGO. I changed over from an Ins co I had used for over 30 years because Of the benifits Good Sam's advertised. It didn't take me long to realize I had made a mistake. I am now back with my former Ins company. About a year ago, I had an accident that cost around four thousand to repair. My ins CO paid all claims but the two hundred deduction.

I think 'wbwood' was referring to posting in the 'Good Sam Insurance' category vs posting here in the 'Good Sam Club' category.
OP:
Response was typical corporate gibberish intended to make you feel like your concerns etc. were heard and something was actually going to be done about it.

It's all Good Sam Enterprises, Camping World or whatever you want to call it. But the club is something different than the insurance. Just as is the ERS and ESP.
This topic was moved here by the GSC. I tried to post under Benefits/Insurance but they moved it here. Sir, it is all under the GSC. As stated above, you have to go through the club to get any of it. The point of the post is to make members aware that the "benefits" are not what they're cracked up to be.
No, its posted in the right section. It's under the insurance section. There is no "Benefits" section. You titled your posting as Good Sam Clubbenefits. You are not given insurance as one of the benefits of joining the club. You are perhaps given preferred rates at a discounted rate.
But as far as I know, you do not have to be a member of the Good Sam Club in order to get the Good Sam Insurance. At least when we bought our camper in 2010 and went with their GMAC insurance, we were not members of the Good Sam Club. We did join the Good Sam club later, but that was something different.
Perhaps their insurance is not all that its cracked up to be, but that has nothing to do with the "club" part of Good Sam. I think you are confused of all the different entities within Good Sam, Camping World, Affintiy and etc...there are many of them!
wbwood, you sir are the one who is confused. These benefits, as stated by the GSC, (look at the ads sometime) They are all inter-related, sponsored and recommended by the GSC. It goes back to trust, if they are sponsoring it and asking you to buy it, it has everything to do with the "club". You want to try and seperate it but you can't because it's like an octopus, one body and 8 tentacles. My point is, that as a club, it's their responsibility to see that we are not ripped off by their own affiliates. 'nuff said!
Just looki...they may be recommended by GSC, but they are not one in the same. As I stated, you do not have to be a member of the club portion to get insurance from them. I was never asked to become a member when I signed up for insurance through them 2 years ago. If insurance was a benefit, I would not be paying for it spereately. The only benefit you get from being a member of the GSC is you get a "preferred rate". See the benefits of the Good Sam Club, Here.Insurance follows under the last item "Discounts on Good Sam Services".
wbwood, You're not getting it. They are partners, financially connected, just under different agencies. NO not one and the same but being sold, pushed, advertised by GSC. As such, they have a responsibilty to members to see that we're not getting ripped off. They are not doing that. I hope you understand.
