Ordered a Wix air filter from a vendor on the web.
Filter received was in a box with a Wix filter label on the box, filter itself has no labeling whatsoever except Made in the USA in 3 languages. Installation sheet has no manufacturer's name on it, just the instructions for installation.
I have a Wix filter presently on the coach, it is the Eco-lite style filter, has metal end caps and a plastic body. Label on the filter is from Wix, lists part number etc.
The filter received is a metal body, one metal end cap and one plastic end cap. No Wix label on the body of the filter itself.
I think this situation is akin to ordering a Rolex and receiving a knock-off.
I really like my Cummins and do not want to take a chance installing this filter.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

This is becoming pretty commonplace! The bulk of products that are being sold these days are produced as generic items that can be "Branded" as XYZ!
I would show this particular item to a mechanic that services Large OTR Trucks.
I recently purchased an Electronic Item that came in a plain brown box with check boxes for several well known Brands! The part had No Brand Label attached but does have an obvious place to apply a sticker.
Your Filter is likely just fine and will give You several years of service in Your Motorhome.

Picked up a NAPA Gold filter for the Smart car 2 weeks ago, Wix and NAPA are the same, and it was also unmarked. Believe it or not but not stenciling a name on the filter increases profits substantially.

Call your chassis manufacturer for your filter numbers.

A manufacturer that won't put their name on their product doesn't stand behind it.

I have a CAT 3126E 330HP engine and never try to save money on any filters. I change my own air filter....I get it at NAPA for $80, Cat buys them there too they charge about $160 and Monaco gets over $300 for the same identical filter. Check your engine manufacturer number and get the crossover from NAPA.

I think if you check out the plastic real good, you will find the filter number. But it is tiny and the printing to make the letters consist of little dots.
And I have a Rolex Oyster Perpetual which I purchased new, and if I told you what paid for it - you'd probably say it's a knock off. But it isn't!

I know what the filter number is, it is not found anywhere on the filter that was shipped-just on the box with a 5 preceding the Wix catalog number.
Most of my career was spent in electrical connector manufacturing so I am very conscious of specifications and the process of qualifying vendors , mil-spec testing etc.
I bought a Wix filter, Wix uses materials supplied by tested qualified vendors and has in-house quality control.
There is no way that I can make a judgement as to whether the filtration is going to be what is required to prevent a dusted engine.
I will return it and go to NAPA for the proper unit.

If it was simply a filter element, I would not expect manufacturer identification.
(Bought an Onan air filter today (element style), it has no identification on the filter itself, but has the Onan information on the Onan packaging)
But it is an Eco-lite style cannister. The Wix filters have metal end caps and a plastic body. The Wix filters have a Wix label attached with the part number and additional information.
This filter is a metal cannister, one plastic end cap and one metal end cap. If corrosion were to erode the integrity of the metal cannister, voila....dusted engine.
The filter shipped to me was sold as manufactured by Wix and is not.
