I'd only do that with flexible fiberglass that looked like tiles. I'd be too worried about cracking.

4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

I would really invest in taking a whole day off and letting the dealer fix your problem. Your going to spend a lot of time, labor and money in fixing that problem. A lot more than you will lose from a day away from work.
Hire your brother-in-law who doesn't work to take the RV to the dealer

I would buy the new pan and wait for it to come in. Take it in for the installation of the pan and get refunded the money. As long as they agree to the refund!

My entire bathroom floor is tiled, including the "step" for the toilet. No cracks etc and the MH is getting on 13 years old. Standard tiles and grout.
Only problem is the DW wants to change it since we redid all the other flooring!

Effy, You stated "I know what's wrong with the pan. When it was installed to clear a stud they actually cut the corner off.". This may be a really dumb question, but how would the dealer install a new pan without cutting the pan unless the stud is moved or modified? I am not familiar with your exact shower enclosure, but based on the ones I have had in 3 RV's, I don't think replacing the pan would be a very easy job. My current shower enclosure is a one-piece assembly; the pan is not a separate piece.

I do believe that I would require the dealer to make a repair that was acceptable to me. If you repair it in any way, then the problem is yours forever. I wish you the best in whatever you decide.

Ok responding to a few things at the same time. The unit is out of warranty, so if I chose to put pink Gorrilla hair in the shower or let them fix it, it's still mine to deal with when it's done. The only reason Thor is covering is because it's an obvious manufacturer defect and they stepped up. Kudos to them.

I do not know how they will fix it. To me in looking at it there was enough room for the pan to clear the stud but none the less the corner was cut anway. I assmue we can blame it on quality control or lack thereof.Being a bit of do it yourselfer I am sure I could fit the pan without cutting the corner off.

The pan is a seperate piece.

It would take more than one day for me to take off. And I don't have an unemployed brother in law. The dealer wants to see for themsleves before they order the part. I can't leave it sit there for a week or more till it comes in. So drive home, back again another day. THey estimate 3 days for the fix. Why? I don't know. I suspect because they obviously lack a lot of organization and need 3 days to get to it despite an appointment. So all told I would be at least 3 days total in running back and forth.

I will have the dealer fix it. Unless Thor allows me to take it closer.

The tile question was more of a "could I" and how easy rather than I am. If someone chimed in and said "hey, I did it and there is this awesome product and here's how", I would have jumped on it. Otherwise I agree the repair/replace seems to be the logical option.

Yes, you can tile your fiberglass shower pan. It would be waterproof and flexible forever. I would have to see a photo of the defect to tell you if tiling is a good option.
"For the moderator" I am retired. I own no part of any company and I am not compensated for any sales. You will however see my name all over the web sites that sell materials, because I am the person that developed the materials and process for tiling surfaces that flex. My technical advise is available to anyone for free. In the past 35 years I have tiled more that 5000 fiberglass units. That includes, shower pans, showers, spas, swimming pools and fountains. I don't know how to post photos here or I would show you all tiled fiberglass showers and spas.
