I ripped out the piece of junk, Xantrex HF 1800 watt inverter/charger and replaced it with a Magnum MS pure sine wave 2000 watt. The new one was almost triple the cost of the Xantrex but it is infinitely a better unit.

The Travel Travel itself was replaced. Would not spend the money to replace the roof. Traded for a small 5th.

What are inverters used for? I have a generator what would an inverter do the gen won't?

Wouldn't an inverter run the batteries down very quickly?

A little more than 30 days ago, the Onan Microlite 2800 started surging drastically and then stalling. Took the fuel line off the carb, and found it dry. Ended up DIY replacing the fuel pump, which involved pulling the Onan out of its compartment to get the top cover off. PITA for one old man in hot weather.... but fixed it. Ran fine for about 10 hours.

Then about two weeks ago, the voltage started varying from normal to low (~80, sometimes into the 70's) with no change in engine RPM unless volts went really low, which made the engine stall. DIY diagnosed a failing voltage regulator, and replaced it with a Flight Systems unit. Minor PITA, $240. Runs fine now.

(Notes for DIY'ers with 2800's... the voltage regulator on these lives (and dies) under the cylinder head, not behind the control panel as per some on-line sources. One screw, a #25 Torx; major PITA getting it back into the hole (can't see it).)

I'm almost afraid to say it aloud as it might jinx us...but we have the Dometic fridge working again...FINALLY! It was like herding cats getting the warranty work done without going through the dealer.

DH diagnosed the problem and we contacted Adventurer and Dometic to get them to send the part directly to us so that we wouldn't have to wait on the dealer's back log.

They sent us 2 new thermalfuse assemblys. DH installed it and it's working great!

I have replaced some of the caulking around the seals where one section of siding joins another section. I replaced a light switch on one of the reading lights. A tire blew on the way home last week. I replced both rain gutter spouts at the front with extensions to help reduce the black streaks.

Trying to get a beauty (trim) ring for the rim where the tire blew.
