We also leave our HWH on electric all the time. Having said that it has to be shut off while the convection/microwave oven operates. It works off a double throw switch (Micro-Off-Heater) in the kitchen area. I imagine they both share a breaker. It's never been a problem as the water stays hot for some time.

We FT so the 5'vr is our home.......
Everything is done the same way as we did in our S&B......ON

Water pump (when needed) is ON
Water heater.....ON
Furnace/AC t-stat set to turn ON when needed
Fridge.....ON

It's how we do it......your choice on how you want to do it.
There's no right or wrong in how one uses their rig for their needs.
