The moderator over at ATC is way over the top with his censoring of posts. Seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. Possibly just skims for key words ?

Can post the same thing in just about any other forum here and it stays. Some times even the mods make sly comments.Think he liks the delete power.

Rule #1 - "We reserve the right to remove any post at any time for any reason."

The "Around the Campfire" moderator is well noted for STRICTLY enforcing the "at any time for any reason", part.

Some people are too worried about confrontation that they strike anything that could either now or in the future cause someone to say something that might or might not disagree with the post. But yet there are posts where people promote their homemade products and the moderators even chime in about the product. But a guy that travels around and sells stuff at festivals and fairs gets posts deleted simply by saying where he is going to be.

I look at it this way. I post what I post and if they ban me from here... well, I've been kicked out of better sites.

The things that come to those that wait will be the crappy junk left by those that got there 1st.

I replied to a Canadian who asked about Dental care in Mexico.

I replied with "what about your FREE healthcare?" then went on to advise against it saying I have built over 100 Dental Clinics and know about what goes on behind the senes. I assume someone's feeling got hurt about the FREE part, but they are always bragging about their system so I thought it was a fair question. Guess not!

Next time I looked at the thread my post was missing. I asked for an explanation from the moderator with no reply.

We will see if this gets deleted.......

Your problem was posting any question on the ATC forum. That is "Nanny State" personified over there. Absolutely no controversy, nothing but political correctness as defined by the moderator.
It really is a shame because that forum should be the place where posters who feel the need to vent, could vent but alas, the person in charge has no respect for personal opinions or the maturity of the posters.
However, what goes on over there is not typical of the Forum in general so you need to simply find another venue for your question.
If you have a cute child story, favorite movie, inane joke, a "prayer request" for a neighbor's brother in law twice removed that has a life threatening hang nail, then the ATC is the place to go.

Mods make the rules and break the rules. There have been threads (such as this one) which inexplicably survive, yet some seemingly harmless ones that get deleted. Have seen power trips with the mods on most of the forums I read, but ATC is definitely the worst. I can understand no religion or politics (this is where the posters can be at fault) but really, a thread about Subarus? Surely the mod can offer some sort of public explanation on this one.
