Our GS has a 2000 Ford 150. He has a gringing metal sound comming from the rear axle. He Jacked it up and turned the tires manually and said it was really Bad. This is his first Vehicle which I bought him a year ago. Any Idea's will be appreciated.

Differential, could be wheel bearing, carrier bearing, or inner or outer pinion bearing. Badly fractured spider gears, or huge chunks missing off the ring or pinion can make the noise as well. A U-joint that makes a grinding noise will usually be findable without dropping the driveshaft.
i have seen a number of 8.8 axles with the wheel bearing at the end of the rear axle shaft failed. also the rear safety brake shoes come apart and make a bunch of noise at times.
