We finally laoded our new to us lance 945 ,on our 2006 dodge SRW long bed 3500 .What a rush to see it finally loaded the truck ,and ready to go traveling.I had to build a 2 5/8 inch spacer so it cleared the truck roof ,have about 2 1/4 inch above the roof .Had no problems on loadind the wife did a exelant job spotting .I thank all members foe thier information and help for this newbee. Our first trip will be next week(3 day shake down ) to a local campsite.
We all develop/borrow loading techniques that work well for us. As a solo TCer, I've used the "Saucer Section Separation". Thank you Sterling. Congrats on the new camper. Enjoy!
Hey best of luck with yout truck and camper combo. Keep me updated in regards to handling that size camper..What is the dry weight of this model Lance? Have you hand any steering or play issues with your truck without or with the camper loaded. Check my posts out regarding steering and sway issues. We have basicly the same year and model truck. Have 2006 Dodge 2500 turbo deisel 4x4 longbed with a 1 ton axle from factory, also installed Helwig swaybar, extra leaf springs,Bilstein shocks, and airbags. My steering problems started when I installed Nitto 285/70r/17 high load index 126 tires instead of stock 265s before I ever loaded any truck camper on it?? I am looking into a whole 2008 4th generation steering upgade kit or steering box. Alreading installed BD steering stabilizer kit and a Bilstein steering Dampener. I have read that the 3rd genny Dodge 2500/3500 steering system and componets are junk... Love that cummins engine though...Best regards.

I saw this online in may and great idea...it works. I did not do the drop down chain but did all the rest...Last time loaded the camper on first try. Thanks.

In the words of Hannible Smith (George Peppard) of the A-Team (1983 to 1987) "I love it when a plan comes together!" Ya'll travel safe.
