So here is a question that I hesitate to post because of what will be my lack of specificity, but perhaps it will lead somewhere.
Last week, I was ending my first long trip with my TV and TT. All went perfect. On a local road only 4 miles from my house, I decided to try different settings on my Tekonsha P-3, specifically adding power to it (it seems I could not leave well enough alone). Soon after, when I was at a traffic light I was noticing and smelling smoke, and it got worse and continued when I was stopping at lights. I immediately made the assumption that I had increased the power of the brake control so much I was locking the TT tires. So I lowered the power and eventually (but not right away), the smoke cleared.
The more confusing part is when I pulled up to m house and shut the engine, there was a bit of smoke around the engine.
Later that night, I pulled the TT around town and there were no problems.
If I had to bet I think I have a leak in the engine somewhere that started at the exact time I increased power on the BC. But, is there any chance the BC could affect the brakes on the TV? I am just trying to rule out any connection between all that was happening?
Thanks as always.

Since the Brake controler is not in any way connected to the TV brakes. It is doubtful it could affect then. Unless for some reason the BC quit working, and the TV front brakes got really hot. Prolly not.
Or since you added power, Maybe the TT brakes were dragging, and somehow caused the engine to over heat.
