Was at pine acres in oakham, ma nice cg by the way. As I sat and watched the parade of campers leaving before 11am on Sunday, we stayed until wednesday. One caught my eye. This guy had a generater running in his pickup bed and a yellow extension cord connected to his campers shore power line. I thought to keep the refig cold? he had breaklights so the connection to the truck seemed ok. Not sure of the connection type from truck to camper. It was just kinda odd. Anyone else see anything odd like this.

Running his A/C?

Several folks have posted about being able to hook up gen while traveling....rear mounted on trailer and truck mounted

My generator is mounted in bed of truck and I have a shore power receptacle at the front of rig....can plug gen in and power up rig if I choose to do so.

He was probably trying to keep his dog or dogs cool back in the trailer while on the road. God forbid if he had human family members back there...but maybe!

Ok I wouldn't put my dog back there, maybe MIL but not my dog. To keep it cool I would have opened a sliding window, instead of all that noise and gas.

His receptacle was in the back of his rig. That's what caught my attention, the long dangling yellow extension cord...

That would bother me! Going down the road with dangling cord is not a good idea!

I would do it especially when it is hot out! it takes forever to cool down a trailer. it would be nice to have it cool when you get to your destination. although I would attach it to the trailer somehow. then again, I don`t even own a generator!

It did not bother me just something to write about on rv.net.
I saw the guy across from me destroy his tail gate on his PU. Was backing it up to his 5ver and wammoo. I cringed and his tailgate crinkled and his wife yelled," whoops sorry." She looked at me and said," we do this all the time." a popcorn moment for sure. They got the mechanic from the rv maintance to look over the hitch. I guess all was well because they hooked up and left. I did not hear the guy yell at all. umm happy wife happy life.
