Is there anywhere other than Camping World that sells the front curtains that go around the windshield? Do they have any on the market now that are better insulated then they were years back?

I took our curtains down to launder today. The velcro wouldn't stick any more, and I replaced that. I can see the fabric is getting weaker. They still look nice, but I can see new ones not too far in the future.

If they make any that have some added insulation factor in them, I think that would be good.

Thanks for any suggestions.

We went to a custom curtain maker/fabricator and she made up a set that work perfectly. Her normal business is making house curtains but she had no problem making ours. However, she is in Yuma, Az so that's no help to you.

Say, Wanda, we could help you better if we knew how old your RV is, what brand and model. Many people put that info in their signature so they don't have to type it each time they post.

I don't recall seeing any front curtains that require velcro...are you talking about aftermarket inside front covers? And aren't yours plastic?

The Pace Arrow I bought had water stains on the curtains, we looked at custom made and camping world. Some how I got on a site for RV Warehouse, the ad they had for windshield drapes was the same as CW. After some digging I found ONE company makes the drapes for everyone. I ordered from RV Warehouse and was very happy. The company that makes the drapes called me to confirm the measurements and I found I had done it wrong. The drapes were excellent and came with new hangers. If I remember correctly they were around $300.00. They have been up for 3 years now and look great.

We need to replace our windshield 'curtains.' Our Winnebago has the thin pleated fabric that compresses well when they are open. DW thinks if we go to a curtain, it will not gather up as well as the existing shades. We've also considered the MCD pull down shades as well.

How do the curtains do when you want them out of the way when they are open?

A few years back, we went to J.C. Penny's and found drapes that were the correct length. As far as width, we had to purchase 3. The wife velcroed them together and they worked perfect.

I picked out our 19RD Jayco on the internet. Drove over 1000 miles to pick it up. My wife loved it. EXCEPT!! She said those curtains not only suck they hang crooked and look like crap. Fortunately my wife can sew. We will have great curtains a little later in the TT. Great to have a wife that really knows how to sew.

Went to Joann's Fabrics and bought material (on close out & best selection) and snap kit there and had the dry cleaners hem it and then installed snaps myself with a kit. Looks factory and inexpensive.

We had the same problem, curtins getting old and thread bare. My wife found some material we both liked added some black out material for the back and took the old curtins and the new material to a local curtian maker and job done. The new ones are much better then the old ones and the black out material really makes it neat in the early morning. The cost was very reasonable compared to CW.....
