This weekend we had several events to attend at the hometown we lived in for many years. Instead of driving back and forth 80 miles one way, or staying at a hotel, we took the 5er to a state park in the area. We were only at the park early in the morning and came back late in the evenings. We've done this before also, and I guess I wonder how often people use their RV as a "hotel on wheels?"

Lots of 'missions', sometimes days away.

That's what we do probably 90% of the time. We love our rolling hotel room.

It's also a "guest room" for us when we got to parties and family events. It was a hard requirement for the RV to be useable with the slide closed for using it parked on a street.

That's precisely what we use ours for. We don't go "camping".

On occasion I have practiced this too. It's even easier with a TC... no need to get a state park or CG. I just drive to the event and park there... less driving

That is how all of our trips are.Leave early in the morning with a packed lunch and hit trails all day, or bike see attractions. Back at supper then to bed early.

Our last day is reserved for a beer day for dad at the campsite. get the tubes out and hit a lazy river and drink some cold beverages

That is what it is essentially a mobile motel room.

It's what we do, "take our 'hotel room' with us". Our RV is actually a little house on wheels. We always know the quality and comfort of where we stay. And, our furry kids feel right at home. It's the only way to travel, for us.
