How many of you use your GPS units to search for other things like waterfalls or other site seeing things? I had a friend from work 3-4 yrs ago that entered in the GPS coordinates for waterfalls and then just took off thru the woods looking for them.

I do the geocaching thing. It's a lot of fun, but I like that idea also. Where does he find the coordinates for waterfalls at?

I owned a GPS for hunting and fishing before I ever knew anything about caching.
Google Earth has added even more usefulness to the GPS. I'm sure one could find waterfalls and other interesting features using GE.

The beauty of geocaching is that it often TAKES you to waterfalls, geological features, pocket parks, sculptures and other hidden gems. Love it when local cachers hide things that show me something interesting or unusual.

@gdreese -- THANKS for the tip on POI-factory.com. I just registered and am waiting for my password. Already found a list of Idaho Campgrounds I want to check out before our trip to the Panhandle next week.

I found this site the other day. I'm guessing you have to enter the coordinates in the GPS manualy. But it has a good listing of waterfalls.

Would a micro pill bottle underneath a lamppost skirt in a Wal-Mart parking lot qualify as well? That seems to be where most hiders are placing caches now!
I do love the ones that take me to an unusual, historic or natural feature that I may have never known about otherwise.
