Had to read it twice, Japan... Only saw one when I was there and that was at Yakota Air Base parked long term near parking near commisary. Willing to help as I know somethings are hard to get in Japan. Could you post a pic or better descripe what you need? Have you googled up door moldings? Are you talking about these

http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/rv-locks/entry-door-window-frame.htm

With prices in Japan what they are that has to be good way to go.

Domo domo:

Try posting the picture without the copyright lock.. so we can see it.

I had to copy and paste your link to see it.

What you want is the plastic wedge that covers the hole for the side mirror for the Passenger side door for the ones made without the right side mirror.

You can either buy the blocking plate or get the right side mirror assembly.

The doors on the Ford have hardly changed for a long time, no problem with supply.

Use the Chassis VIN to get the part off any Ford dealer.

Look up the part here:

http://www.fordparts.com/

enter your VIN, look under trim parts, door

Post your VIN Number (on the dash, left hand side, in front of steering wheel).

Then we can look it up for you.

dear everyone,

thank you very much your help. Now i know it is called "Filler".
VIN of my Rig is 1FDWE30S5WHB51663 .

yes, my motorhome is still active and we travel in japan a lot.
in Japan, 1998 vehicle would be considered as very old car however for motorhome, it is fairly new..
since SuperDuty now has wider width, it is "hard" to import new Class C motorhome based on Econoline.
Class A also became wide width therefore it is also impossible to import and register here in japan .
our regulation here is the exterior width must be within 250mm.
This is main reason we still use old type of Class C in Japan.
i hope i can find used parts for this "filler" ...

thank you very much everyone.

Unlike Japan, American cars tend to have parts available for a minimum of 7 years (by law) after it is manufactured.

Many cars that are 30 to 50 years old can still get parts, though the manufacturer usually gets out of the parts business after 20 years --- unless it is for government vehicles.

Parts for American military gear are often available 50 years after it is first made!

You should have no trouble with getting this part brand new in USA.

No need to hunt for used part.

It is available as a brand new part from any North American Ford dealer who is willing to send it to you in Japan.

Try Tousey's Ford who gives discounts and also does a big mail order parts business.

They may have to special order it from Ford, and that may add a week to them getting it and you getting it say 2 or 3 weeks after placing the order.

The parts are not heavy, and can be put in a padded envelope and shipped.

If you have trouble ordering, let us know.
