Hi all,

Just had a thought and wanted to find out how you full timers pay the bills? Or do you just bring a bank vault with you?

We use checks or autopay from the checking account.

We have a variety of ways, but primarily we use Quicken to auto pay most of our bills, although some offer discounts for deducting it from your account so that's no problem, either.

Set up Auto Bill PAY with our bank via on-line banking.
E-Bill statements (got rid of paper statements so we don't have to worry about our mail forwarding box filling up).

Direct deposit also.

And IF we should acquire a new non-reoccurring bill I can pay it thru the on-line bill pay......companies and/or individuals.

All of our retirement checks are direct deposit.

When we did our 3-mo trip of US, we had DS email copy of bill and we would mail a check from wherever we were - only had a few autopay.

Now nearly everything is autopay from checking except for a few local bills that do not do autopay. We check of CU checking and cc acct several times a day to ensure nothing is amiss. To this date, knock on wood, no issues whatsoever.

I don't full time, but do take long trips (today is #118). Income is direct deposited, and while I have 2 accounts that the amount doesn't change (life insurance & auto loan) that I've set up as autopay, I prefer to look at each month's bill & pay on line for those that vary. With only one exception, all my billing companies have websites where I can determine the amount for the month. I call the exception to get the amount.
