I'm looking for some advice on camping around the Charlotte speedway for the October 2013 race we would prefer a spot with hook ups as we want to spend the week there. Any suggestions or ideas would be great. Thanks.

It's been a long time since I camped there. But you might try contacting Tom Johnson's RV in Concord, NC. Seems like they bought out the old Fleetwood RV park that sat between Tom Johnson's and the front gate of the track. I don't know if the track now owns the park or not. But, Tom Johnson would be a place to start for information.

It is right next door to tom johnsons and has their name on it but when we were in the area in July they said something about someone else running it. You might just want to contact Tom Johnson's RV directly, they can probably put you in contact with the correct people. It is full hook ups there and within walking distance of the track. We stayed at the fort mill KOA when DH got to do the driving experience at the track. The fort mill KOA is about 35 min or so from the track and is nothing special but had full hook ups and a pool. Lots of good raceshops in the area. The Micheal waltrip raceshop tours you through where they make the cars and the pit crew training area. We got to see inside the haulers too. It was pretty cool and well worth the money for the tour.
