Anyone been to the Flying J in Bakersfield off Merced or the
Flying J in Indio, Ca. or just accross the Az. border off I-10?

Looking for easy in/out RV islands and RV dump & water.
I have gas not diesel.
The 3 of them when I called said they have Gas pumps.. dah.. I asked if they had RV specific Islands and they said I could use any gas
pump I wanted. They weren't very helpful.

About the dump.. they said they had one but weren't sure it was working, no one has used it in a while,.. was broken.. put me on hold forever to check on it.. I hung up after 5 min on hold & the Az. said
it was by the propane area & it was open but filled up fast & they close it until it gets dumped. eg... kinda iffy.

Any info or other ideas? Rest Stops or other areas you know where I
can dump ? or easy in/out for gas?

going from Visalia, Ca. 99 so. need to dump/gas w/n 100 mi., will be in Indio, Ca. boondocking will need to dump/gas close, will be boondocking in Quartzsite, Az. & will need gas/dump on way out back to
calif. Going Jan. 7 - 28.

With a gas RV, at any Flying J or Pilot, I just use any gas pump that I can access and/or has the shortest line, it doesn't have to be a dedicated RV lane. As for the dump at Flying J , most of those are in the RV lanes and can have a long line of waiting RV's so I don't use them. Maybe someone else will chime in with more info

The one in Ehrenburg has rv lanes, but at this time anywhere near Quartzsite is going to be a real adventure.Last time I went thru Indio,The price for gas there and at Quatrzsite was the same, about thirty cents higher than Casa Grande.
Used to be 30cent diff but not any more.Check gas buddy.

If the dump station is full there is a T/A Travel Center where the 5/99 meet near the base of the Grapevine that has a dump. Another dump option is the rest stop in Fort Tejon which has re opened.

The Flying J in Bakersfield has a separate RV lane for gas. They have an RV dump station but I don't know if it works or not.

Have stopped there many times for gas and breakfast. No problem.

Hey about the Q... Does the Pit Stop in the Q dump for you or is it a do it yourself?
Can you get water there? Do you know how much it costs?
Is it quite busy? long lines? I would be arriving on Sun 13th say noonish at the least.
I believe it's north of Q on N95. do you know if it is before Plamosa rd?
Thanks Dy

At rv pit stop, they have propane, water and sewer dump. It can be busy at times. Sunday should be ok. Have never used their dump, as we stay on a lot in Q for the winter. Only get propane. Its $2.75, so a full tank is about 22.00 with tax. Pit stop is still in town, a few miles south of Plamosa road. Don't know how much water is, and I have never been there when someone is at the dump. Guess I'm not much help. Its been real chilly in Q, especially overnight and first thing in am. Hoping it starts to warm up.
Have fun and travel safe.

Flying J at Merced Avenue north of Bakersfield has one lane dedicated for RV use, and it has both diesel and gas. In addition they have four fuel islands for autos, with access on both sides, and the islands on the outside have diesiel and gas, interior islands only have gas. They also have ten truck lanes with DEF. Truck lanes tend to always be very busy.
Their RV dump is adjacent to the RV fuel lane, but not accessible from the RV lane. You must exit and drive around to the dump station. It is easy accessible.
Easy on and off the freeway 99. I live in the area, and Flying J at this location is my favorite fueling station for diesel.
