Couple of rigs headed to Mt Rushmore this summer and looking for ideas on campgrounds. Need things for kids to do. Heard one had a waterpark but can't locate it? Ideas or thoughts? And we are going nowhere near that place during bike week!!

We enjoyed Rafter J Bar. It is not too crowded with a lots of common area. They have a nice pool, playground etc. It is also close to Hill City and anything that you might want to see. You might think about visiting the Wild Horse Sanctuary which is about 30 miles south of Hill City,

We really like The Beaver Lake Campground just east of Custer. It's family friendly and has a really nice pool and water slide. When we asked our 3 grandchildren, ages 7, 7 & 6, where they wanted to go, there was no hesitation - this was their choice. http://www.beaverlakecampground.net/

With all the Wild Life to go looking for, the vistas to enjoy, the small lakes (even a large lake even) really never needed a kid resort when our two were kiddos. They did enjoy the Jr Ranger Program they attended at Custer State Park. My son never went looking for a resort when he went camping with his little girls, many years later.
We had a canoe with us back then & we did canoe on one of the lakes. Others have rentals, or they did.
The Hill City Tain might be cool for them. Ditto on the Jewel Cave. Maybe the Hot Springs area has a water park.

We were in and out the same day so no park experience but did see some. If the kids are into caves our kids (age 13 at the time) did like Rushmore Cave that we toured after Mount Rushmore and on the way to Cody through Custer state park by way of US 16.
