You will like that generator. They are not as loud as people claim. I got mine for $73 a couple years ago.
The extended warranty is a good investment. The first generator went back because it was defective. Second one runs like a champ.
MWJones, my HF 800/900 will operate the converter to charge the batteries, it runs the microwave, it runs a 5,000 BTU air conditioner, electric chain saw, and other things.

Our HF 800 gets started more often than any of our generators because it is so handy. At sub $100 it is a good option we have found.

For cool weather, it might run the whole trailer and charge the heck out of the battery. Probably have to shut some stuff off before running the microwave.
And to do arithmatic- at least 13 60 watt bulbs if they wanted to.

It is not cheap but we did the 25 hour break in per the manual and I think that paid off.
I would like to have a Honda but they have longer legs and can walk off farther.
We have a 6 amp manual charger we use with the HF 800 genset that we are OK with using to charge a battery at a remote site and leave running risking it getting stolen. The 5 hour run time with that light load is enough to start most engines if the battery is just low. Running work lights is a good task for the generator.
The output is not as smooth/clean as an inverter type. When I was using the HF800 to charge the 36v golf cart I noted the EZGO computerized charger output needle was bouncing some so I stopped using it since that charger is around $400+ new. I will in the future test it again with the HF heat gun also running on the 200 watt setting to see if that helps stabilize the output because I have noticed the engine is more stable under a 600+ watt load.
