Sardine parking, not enough shade, add to that the rise in crime in Ocean City... not worth it in my opinion.

Makes the case to some to drop the RV and do it by SUV, van or car and stay in a hotel.
Buying, insuring and keeping up a hotel then pay $100 per night to park it gets steep to some. What makes the MH work for us is parking close to or in the parking lot of the first stop of the next day. On our 31 day cross country we stayed in CG/RV parks for a total of 3 nights and only one had hook ups and cost $26 and the other one at YS was $10 and $13 on Great Salt Lake (Antelope park). We stayed 15 nights in hotels because parking and access were easier and the rates quite similar and two teenagers. That left 13 nights of rogue parking.
I still would pay $100 a night if it was like a family, school, etc reunion or something. Doing rogue parking is not about saving money as it is about saving time and working in that extra stop each day.

Wow the rates have gotten that high now there!
Campland on the bay has some in the $90-120 a night last time I checked! Not overly fancy just sitting on Mission Bay in SD in the middle of all the tourist attractions!
We stayed there a few times many years ago with small kids and greeat with all the activities and back then a med level site was $35-45.

I stayed there for 4 months earlier this year. Its considerable cheaper by the month, 1000/mo. Not that a grand is cheap but it is relative. And there isnt another place in the world where you can listen to the movie folk unwind on a sat. night street racing their ferraris and lamborghinis. The place sounded like warm up for the Indy 500.

Can't speak for the places on the west coast but $100.00 a night is steep for Castaways in OC, MD. It's a very nice place but not that nice!
However it is all about supply and demand. If enough campers are willing to pay it than it's a fair price.
