I am replacing the dry rotted tires on my 2000 hurricane that I bought with 21,000 miles used. This is my dilemma..
The tires currently on the Rv are 225/70/19.5 size. But when I brought the Rv to my local rv service center he said that seems like an odd size tire. So I called Thor/four winds who told me I need to call Ford chassis, and I did call Ford chassis but Ford told me that they do not keep records for original tire size going that far back. BUT the Ford rep told me that he thinks the correct tire might possibly be a 245/70/19.5 ( a bit wider) but he cannot confirm.
does anyone know where to find the correct tire size ? would there be a tire sticker like they put on automotive door jambs to indicate factory spec tire anywhere in the rv ?
or does anyone have a 2000 Hurricane and has original tires or has replaced original tires with the exact same that can confirm correct specification size ?? Let me know please

my 99 Ford has the 245 plus you can get the number off the wheel and that will tell you what size it should have on them. Use the front and the outside dual and the numbers should match. I take it you did not get the ford chassis manual. If not go online to ford and down load what you need there.

Most Class A's have a sticker with all the details such as tire size, tire pressure, GVWR, GCWR, etc. Look in a closet, or on the wall next to the drivers seat. Should be somewhere in the coach.
Maybe someone with a 200 Hurricane can answer, ot Thor SHOULD have told you that!
Good luck!

Our 2001 Winnebago Brave 30' has the tire size and pressure on the VIN tag on the wall to the left of the drivers seat. It is 18000 lbs GVW and has 225 70 R19.5 tires. It is not a Ford though, it is a Work Horse chassis.

As others have said look to the left of the drivers seat. My Damon has an overhead cabinet over top of my left shoulder and the tire size sticker is in there. When looking at coaches I have seen them on the wall beside the driver, low near the floor to the left of the driver or above the window on the left of the driver.
It should be there somewhere. there are coaches around with 225/70 R19.5 so don't rule out the size yet. What is the manufacture date of the tires on it (See DOT Code). If they are the same year as the coach or older they are likely original size.

Wheel width and dual spacing should be the least common denominator you are looking for since it is not technically a brand thing.
The 245 may increase your gear ratio up enough to be negative but maybe not.

The F53 chassis under my Southwind has 245/70R19.5 tires on it
That is also what the data sticker on the wall by the driver's seat says.

I think your tire store has no RV experience. 225 70R15 is not an odd size in MHs. My '96 Pace Arrow came with that size. I put 245s on the front to get a little bit more carrying caapacity and 225s on the rear. That worked out good for me.
