I have a friend who is going full time when he sells his house and want to get some protection for on the road. I know different states have different rules and wondering if there is a website or something that might have them.

Yes, there are websites and maps that show where you can carry concealed and where you can't even with a permit. Friend of mine has a floor business and had 2 estimates, one in Northern Virginia and the second in Maryland. While looking for second estimate he got turned around and had to make a u turn that he shouldn't have made! He got pulled over for illegal u-turn and when the cop walked he my friend immediately gave him his license and registration along with his concealed permit and told the cop he had a handgun in the console. Well Maryland is not a carry state so no questions asked he was arrested and locked up for 2 days. Now he had to get a lawyer and a big mess, cop didnt care that he had a clean record and was obvious by the work truck that they weren't lying.

Nothing like the sound of a 12 gauge shell being racked into a pump shotgun. A shotgun without a pistol grip and more than 5 shells should be OK with it inside the RV in all states but not in Canada.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

I won't say if I carry in my RV, I like to surprise people...Ever have to dial 911 from a cell phone??? And then try to figure out the address and where the heck you are to tell dispatch?? At a camp ground 10 mile out of town?? And do all this while either a neighbor or your wife is being assulted by a crackhead or 2.?? Even if dispatch knows exactly where you are, and even if the camp ground is in town, it's most likely gonna take a minimum of 5 minutes for the law to get there. You are in for the longest 5 minutes of your life. Not the laws fault, they are short handed and can't be everywhere at once. Protect yourself, protect your family and protect your neighbor. Pretty much common sense, or you can keep telling yourself it only happens to other people not you..... Get trained....

This is why one should NEVER offer information unless required by law, such as in Texas. If asked, tell the truth. If NOT asked, don't say anything.

I took a shotgun to Canada. Had the paperwork and they were happy. Went across the border 7 or 8 times with no problem.
US border guy said 'be safe, keep it unloaded.' I asked him it the bears would wait for me to load it.
