RE: Air Ride

It takes ours about 5-7 minutes to fill from a fully drained status to ride height of 115. We retract our jacks, then start the engine to fill the air bags. Once we reach full ride height, we turn the engine off and then bring in the slides and do any final tidying up inside for the road while the electrical cord is disconnected and stowed outside.

Bike Trails - Lake Tahoe area

I am completely overwhelmed by the amount of Bike Trail information I am finding online. Looking for a first hand recommendation for a bike trail to ride. We are looking for something up to 20 miles round trip total with good views and pretty scenery. Can have some uphill but not looking for anything too difficult.

Suggestions

Looking for suggestions on places to see and visit between now and June 17th. We are currently in Fernley, NV and have reservations at St Mary's Campground at Glacier National park 17-26 June. We also have another reservation for St Mary's in July just in case the Going to the Sun Road doesn't open up while we are there in June. We have just been at Bryce & Zion and the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in the last couple months. We have been to Yellowstone twice before for 3 weeks each. We have yet to visit Grand Tetons Natl Park so will like to stop there for at least one week.
We like to hike and bike. Just day hikes typically and day rides. Not really into a lot of touristy shopping types of things because we really don't want to buy any more "stuff" to bring into the motorhome.

RE: Las Vegas, NV to Lee Vining, CA

Original Poster here - we did take the 120 shortcut from Benton to 395. As mentioned there were some rolling dips that you didn't want to take too quickly. It was also pretty slow in the very beginning with several switchbacks. All in all, we thought it was a pretty drive and would take it again if in the area. We really enjoyed our time in the Lee Vining side of Yosemite. We drove through Tioga Pass 3 days in a row in the minivan and were just as impressed each time. We hiked out to North Dome from Tioga Road (about 10 miles round trip). Would highly recommend that hike to anyone wanting a different view of Half Dome and the Yosemite Valley.

RE: Questions On AMAZON locations????

We worked at Campbellsville KY last year and will be back this year. As above, we stayed at Heartland and walked all but three days when it was raining. Weather was good last year but I heard that it froze earlier and more days in a row the year before. We got most of our KY state and county tax back as a non-resident.

RE: In Motion Satellite & Direct TV

Did you turn on the Sat dish switch to let it search for the sat? What cables did you hook between the sat dish and the receiver? Between the Receiver and the TV? You are going to have to supply a bit more information as to what you tried that didn't work. Do you by chance know the make/model of the sat dish?

RE: Windshield replacement

When we had our one piece windshield replaced in Oregon, it was around $2000 using the original seal.

RE: Awning fabric

I just finished 2 slide toppers and my roll out awning. Did one each evening after work with the help of my son. Took about an hour to hour and a half each. Lots of good videos available on You Tube. Please pay attention to the warnings on spring pressure. They are serious and should not be taken lightly.
We have replaced several slide toppers for ourselves and friends. We have not had to replace our awning as yet. As mentioned, do take the warnings about the main awning very seriously. We had a friend try to work on his and he ended up in the hospital for 2 days and nearly lost his thumb. He thought he could lock a pair of vise grips on the end and hold it that way - didn't work out for him. Not saying you can't do it but please be careful.

RE: Questions on trip to South Carolina then to Indiana

I'm a little confused. LaGrange is North of Lima OH, not the other way around. But maybe you mean heading north from Lexington to Lima, then on to LaGrange?
If you are going from Lexington to LaGrange, unless you have a reason to go to Lima, I would get off I-75 a little earlier on US 33 west, then take US 127 north to pick up US 30 at Van Wert. Going through VanWert is easier than going through Lima in my opinion.

RE: Las Vegas, NV to Lee Vining, CA

Thanks for the responses. We have actually been to Yosemite before but didn't get to see the north east portion of the park because the road was still closed. We are planning to park the RV at Lee Vining area and then travel into the park in the minivan. We have been watching the plow progress on the National Park website. As of May 3rd update, they are hoping to open the road on May 11th. We'll have to wait to see how it goes.
After we leave Lee Vining we are going to head north on 395 to check out the Amazon location at Fernley, NV. We have worked at Amazon in Campbellsville, KY already and thought this would be a good time to check out the campgrounds around Fernley.

Las Vegas, NV to Lee Vining, CA

Getting several different routes using Microsoft Streets & Trips vs Garmin Nuvi.
Thinking US 95 to US 6 to US 395
Is it worth it to take a shortcut on CA 120 from Benton across to 395?
Traveling in a 40 foot Class A with minivan in tow.

RE: Good Sam Extended Warranty Problem

Mr. Jodi,
Your warranty has been registered and you should receive a call from Melenie shortly with instructions for processing your claim. Please let me know if there is anything else we can do.
I guess you can only hope that it wasn't entered into the computer system as Mr "Jodi". Just FYI - the Original poster's wife's name is Jodi. If you check his profile, you will find his actual surname.

RE: Generator Auto Start

How can I test if my auto start gen. is working?
Before trying to run the batteries down some to see if it starts, I would verify the programming so I know when it is supposed to kick on - say 12.2, 12.0, 10.9, etc.
Ours is also programmable to come on when the inside temperature reaches the programmed temperature, so you might be able to try that too. Either way, be sure that you are not plugged into shore power.

RE: Refrigerator woes

Did you replace the cooling unit with an Amish unit or did you go with Norcold again?
WHY would that matter?????? It FREEZES everything in the lower refer section. Doug
Just wanted to know who should be able to assist the OP. I was ready with information to forward to the OP about who to contact for problems with an Amish cooling unit but didn't post again then because it doesn't apply because he went with a Norcold again.

RE: Power problem?

By the way, in your original post you said inverterS not inverter - do you by chance have more than one? Never heard of that but maybe you added a small one up front to power something??? Maybe that is why both chassis and house batteries went dead?
Yes. My coach is a 2012 Fleetwood Discovery 40G and it comes with 2 2kw inverters. I don't know if they rune deferent parts of the coach or not but both were left on.
Do you by chance have a residential fridge? That is probably why you have two inverters; one is dedicated to the fridge?

RE: 2008 Monaco Knight Sewer Line

We use our Sanicon nearly 95% of the time. Sometimes when we have been boondocking and have really full tanks, we will hook up the old slinky so we can dump quicker at the dump station. For that reason, our old slinky hose is in a container in the pass through storage area. We keep a storage bin with other things that we rarely use like extra power cord, cable TV coaxial, etc. The slinky is tied up in a heavy duty trash bag inside the container. It took us a while to figure out the grey water bypass on the sanicon really does work so we are able to leave our grey tank valve open whenever we have full hook-ups.

RE: 2008 Monaco Knight Sewer Line

It should be attached where your "normal" RV sewer line is. You can either have the sanicon rigid hose attached or your "normal" sewer hose attached but not both at the same time. The Rigid sewer hose goes from the Y fitting to the Sanicon.

RE: ME-MR Inverter Remote Control

EC30-W
Our motorhome did not come with an Auto Gen Start so we added the EC-30W ourselves. It was very easy to install and program. We were one of the first ones to purchase it and did have some initial issues with it regarding quiet time programming but once we found the right guy who had the correct software update it has worked great for us.
