Televisions - LCD vs LED?

Our 20 year old television (a old boxy TV) seems about ready to bite the dust. Once in a while the picture shrinks down to a straight line across the screen.
I think we will have to shopping for a new set very soon!
We have not bought a TV in 20 years and have no idea what the difference is between LCD and LED televisions. I have found charts on the Internet telling the difference, but they were not of much help.
Can anyone tell me in real layperson's words how to choose between a LED and a LED television?
Thanks!

RE: Upstate NY

Here is a second for the Fnger Lakes area! Watkins Glen, Buttermilk Falls, Taughannock Falls - all just beautiful! ( the last two are near Ithaca). Also some great historical sites in the area - Seneca Falls Women's Rights; Waterloo, Birthplace of Memorial Day; Auburn, home of Harriet Tubman, plus many more! Award winning wineries all along the lakes. Not to mention all of the lakes themselves! Beautiful scenery!

RE: West Virginia

One of our favorite places in WV to camp is Kanawha State Forest, just south of Charleston. The hiking trails are beautiful, numerous and well mapped. There is a variety of trails for short or day-long hikes. The campground has a feeling of being very primitive but with electric hookups. There is a lovely stream running through the campground. Beautiful place!
We have also enjoyed many state parks in the state and have loved them all!

RE: How do we keep 2 yr old from opening screen door?

I am one of the first to endorse and use the slap on the hand and the sharp "NO!"
However, I have enough experience with children to know that as well disciplined and as well behaved a child can be, there is always the time that they will still be testing the limits. I don't want to take the possible chance of a precious child falling out of my fifth wheel, down 3 metal steps and onto the pavement. It could cause serious injury. I appreciate the helpful advice that many gave!

RE: Question on kayaks

We have an Ocean Kayak, Malibu II. It is a two person kayak.
My DH is a large guy also. (Fairly close to your DH's size) It works great for us! We love it! It weighs about 70 pounds, is 12 feet long and we fit it right inside our fifth wheel.

How do we keep 2 yr old from opening screen door?

We have just started taking our 2 year old granddaughter camping with us in our Laredo 5th wheel.
She is a smart little cookie and it did not take her long to figure out how push the lever and to open the screen door. We are afraid she will tumble out the door. What kind of modifications has anyone made to keep a little one from opening the latch door handle, but still make it easy and convenient for us grandparents to get in and out easily?
We really do not want to keep the outer door closed all the time, but that seems the only way for right now!
Thanks for ideas!

RE: Different Ways to use an RV

A few years ago, I was in the middle of canning a bunch of tomatoes at home on our electric stove in the house when the electricity went out. I panicked, thinking I was going to lose all of those tomatoes that were already in the jars. But then I thought of the gas stove in the camper. DH toted all of the jars of tomatoes out to the camper and I finished processing the tomatoes in the camper. It saved the day!

Camp creek in WV

Does anyone know how the electricity is at Camp Creek State Forest? What is the amps?
Do they still have water on there?
We are thinking of stopping there tomorrow, but not if they have only 20 amps and no water.
Thanks!
