RE: Verizon Pantech UML290

Another "UML290 in a CTR35" user. In remote areas with poor signals, I use an Wilson external antenna and an amplifier. All the gear came from the 3G Store. I be happy, happy, happy.

RE: Rebuilding 2006 Montana Landing Gear

Next time contact the manufacturer of the landing legs - Venture Manufacturing. They sell the parts cheaper than Lippert plus they have all the documentation of how they work available as PDFs.

RE: Electrical hook up

Likely you have an IOTA 50 Amp Transfer Switch. Here is a link to the Owners Manual and how to wire it up. http://www.sunwize.com/documents/IotaITS_50R_switch.pdf

RE: Does Ford Diesel engine/xmission have Exhaust Brake?

...The 6.4 had tow/haul engine braking or grade braking, however it was not until the 6.7 that they added a factor exhaust brake feature to the turbo. Chris Not exactly. Both the 6.4L and the 6.7L (and the 6.0L) employ the same tow/haul engine braking via the turbo.

RE: Unique Places to Eat GPS

There are plenty of POI Files for all the chain restaurants, but a few years ago there was one that was for unique or special places to dine out. I thought I had it but can not find it. Is there anyone that has a link to something like this concept? Thank you One version of "unique or special" is the POI file of places that have been featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. The POI files for these places are at http://www.poi-factory.com/node/6232

RE: Jasper park all booked up in one minute?

When did you call? From the posting it sounds like today (or yesterday). Booking for Jasper (Whistlers) opened last Wednesday April 3rd. I know as that is when I made my reservation there.

RE: Seattle Washington

We also use Lake Pleasant when visiting Seattle. While technically "..on the water.." it probably isn't the water you are interested in. If you are retired (or active duty) military, the Naval Air Station on Whidbey Island last year completed construction on a new 59 space RV park with full hookups right on the beach. http://i46.tinypic.com/nqy2v5.jpg

RE: Celebration- I got reservations at Banff!!!

I was waiting when they opened reservations this morning for Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court. For the weekend of July 4th (which I didn't think was a big deal in Canada), the large full hookup sites were all gone in 15 minutes. My first choice spot was lost due to I.E. puking as I was making the selection. I was able to use FF to grab my second choice. I feel fortunate to have a spot! Registering for a GCKey id is easy (I created mine during the reservation process) and they accept credit card payment. Not much different than Reserve America or other such reservation systems.

RE: Leak coming from under refrigerator

This is not an uncommon problem. Here is a summary of what many MOC members have done to cure the problem. If you take the outside vent cover off of the refrigerator (TOP and BOTTOM COVER) and take a look at the plastic frame that the cover attaches to. At the bottom, when they inserted screws it pulls the inside of the frame downward so any water coming down around the sides or any place has no place to drain to the outside so it finds the path of least resistance nad get under the back lip of the frame. What we did to fix it was: Go to a hardware store and pick up a 48" piece of 1/2 inch aluminum angle iron. Measure the lenght of the bottom lip. Mine was 21 inches, and cut the aluminum to fit. Take out the bottom screws holding the plastic frame in and the first screw up on each side from the bottom. Place one edge of the angle iron under the inside lip and set it in place. Replace the screws you took out. You may notice that they are rusty. this is from the water seeping down. I used silicone calk in each screw hole before replacing the screws. On the right angle of the angle iron, and against the lip it is sitting under, place a good bead of silicon calk. At the ends where the angle iron ends, build a dam of silicon. Walk away happy! http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j275/ChestyP/5th%20Wheel/Leak%20Repair/Pic5.jpg The full explanation, with pictures, can be found at the Montana Owners Club forum. http://montanaadministrator.forumco.com/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=30260 There is much more Montana related information available there. RE: Trailer Tires for 5th Wheel - Montana 3150 RL

Problem is Montana does not use wheels rated to 110 pounds inflation! If you have to buy wheels, buy 17.5 wheels and 215/75R17.5 LRH tires. They are the same diameter as ST235/80R16E tires. Chris All the rims used by Montana since 2010 are certified for 110 PSI.

RE: What is good source for matching spare wheel?

Most likely the wheels on your Cougar where manufactured by Tredit Tire and Wheel. Take a look at their website and see what you can find. http://www.tredittire.com/

RE: LED question

I highly recommend the folks at the following link: http://www.filamentfree.com/ They stand behind their product and I swapped out all but one fixture on my Montana with their LEDs. I couldn't agree more with sigman! Most of my lights have been replaced by their LEDs and I am very pleased.

RE: 2007 Montana RL3400 Converter location

Listen to newman fulltimer, he knows what he is saying. The converter is behind the fuse panel in the bathroom. But you don't have a converter problem. The converter takes 120V AC and changes it to 12V DC to charge the battery. You have a fully charged battery (according to you) and it runs the front jacks. The other 12V devices in your rig get power from the battery via the power panel and the disconnect switch. Check the light above the convenience center with the disconnect switch in its two possible positions. The light (and most 12V devices) does not work when the switch is in the disconnect position. A lot more information about everything Montana is available at www.montanaowners.com It is free to join and is the best source of information you will ever find for your Montana.

RE: Keysone Montana 3900FB

This is a very new unit that only came on the market around October of 2013. I doubt that you will find many that have one even on the Montana owners club which I suggest you join(it is free). we did see the prototype at the Montana owners club fall rally at the Montana factory in Goshen and we were very impresssed in many ways with this model. We liked the large front bathroom area and IMO it was a good floor plan for the long term user. There is one owner of the 3900FB who was at Quartzsite and is an active member of the Montana Owners Club (MOC). Plus 70+ members toured the 3900FB on display from the local dealer. All of them will share their opinions if you join the MOC

RE: Lake Pleasant RV Park, Bothel, Washington

We stay there two to three times a year when visiting the kids in Seattle. The best park available in the Seattle area. Fortunately, it really is a very nice park.

RE: Directv SWM SL3 Aiming & CHecking Signal Sttrength

The only sat I worry about is 101. Max it out (95-99%) and all the rest fall into useable ranges. I don't even bother to check them anymore if 101 is above 95%.

RE: Quartzsite Facilities

...You can leave it at the pit stop didn't know that!.... In years past this was true. Unfortunately people started treating the Pit Stop as the dump and overwhelmed them. They haven't accepted trash since.

AT&T apparently died due to snowbird overload according to the Quartzsite local news. Read all about it here... http://desertmessenger.blogspot.com/2013/01/at-service-down-in-quartzsite-areas-new.html

RE: montana 3700

Both the 3700 and 3800 have been withdrawn from manufacturing. If you want one you will have to buy one currently made and in dealer stock somewhere. I am so happy I got mine before they were discontinued.

RE: Windows 8

Having had W8 for two weeks I have found it to be just like previous OS upgrades. The appearance changes and things move around but it is still pretty much the same underneath. Other than the "Tiles" and the focus on touch screen appearance, it is easy to get it to look like W7 on your non-touch screen PC. The "Start" menu is still there albeit some functions have moved to different locations. All in all the move from W7 to W8 is much less traumatic than the move from XP to W7. And if you are buying a new PC you will have W8 - W7 isn't an option at the stores I frequent.
