RE: Hauler for couple

Heartland Cyclone has a couple models under 40 feet. The 2812 is about 30 and the 3010/3100 is at about 36. Their new Torque line I believe are all under 40. It all depends on the floor plan that suits you best. Good luck in your search. Frank

RE: Cylcone 4200 - Does it exist?

Based on a couple different posts on the Heartland Owners forum, the 4200 is scheduled to go into production this summer. Until then all details are top secret.

RE: info needed please 2012 cyclone 4014

The Cyclone in my sig is our second Heartland product. No complaints on either and we are very happy with the Cyclone. Of course, there is always the potential for a few issues when buying new but I think that is pretty much par for the course on any new RV you buy. RE: 5th wheel to toy hauler

We moved up from a bunkhouse 5th wheel to the TH in my sig. From a fit and finish standpoint, I would say the TH is just a nice if not nicer. We are just under 40 feet so because of the added size, we did not really loose a lot of space in the living area plus we spread out into the garage when the toys are out. Easy to get in the parks? It depends. Some we fit into no problem. Others, not so much. Some we can't get into at all anymore. Just do your homework before you hit the road. Frank

RE: locking gas cap??

How about a part number stamped somewhere inside the cap itself?

RE: Curt 5th wheel hitch

I have a Curt Q5 20k. No issues so far and cost was reasonable. You just need to decide if having the hitch rails in your truck bed is an issue for you. If not, Curt is just as good a hitch as any other. Good Luck.

RE: Beach Day Camping and photo fun!

We camp at San Clemente quite a bit. After all these years, I never knew San Onofre had spots right on the beach like that. We will definitely have to go check it out. Glad you had a great time and nice pics. Frank

RE: 2012 D/A - DEF

How big is your DEF tank? If you were down to 10% when you added the 2 1/2 gallons, it may not have been enough for the sensor to reset.

RE: trailer/5th wheel w/ 2 BEDROOMS AND 1 1/2 BATHS

Kind of depends on what your definition of second room is. Heartland has a couple different units that have a half bath in what would be the bunk house area. Prior to my current rig, I had a Heartland Sundance 2998RB with a half bath in the back. The third slide was a bunk room that slept three comfortably. it was a good unit for us, just outgrew it. RE: Flag Pole question

I've had both and no issues with either. On my last rig, I had one of these. Flag Pole Buddy On my current rig, I got it from here. Poles and Holders

RE: DirecTV HD questions

Winegard Slimline is the only automatic dish that is HD that I know of unfortunately it's roof mounted. Assuming all the right conditions as other have said, pointing the dish gets easier with practice but if all else fails, I would make the sacrifice and go for the meter. You can get a Bird Dog on eBay for a few hundred bucks and there is another one for SWM sats, Accutrec I think for about $200 new. Good Luck.

RE: Looking for good upholstery shop near San Diego, CA

This guy was recommended to me and did excellent work on my BMW. He was working on a Ferrari when I went to check out his shop and he advertises that he will work on anything. Joey V. Euro-Trim Upholstery 7939 Silverton Ave. #809 San Diego CA. 92126 Ph. 858.271.4208 While not exactly in north county (Miramar area), you never know it may be worth the extra drive. He did get a little behind while working on my car but worked through a holiday to make sure it was done when he promised. Good luck.

RE: Help is on the way, NY and NJ

I am in San Diego. Last night's news showed 25 San Diego Gas & Electric heavy equipment trucks being loaded up on flat beds heading east. SDGE is also sending a crew of 40 to help out. God bless this country for pulling together in a true time of need.

RE: Problem getting satalite to work in the trailer

It would help to know the model and year of your Cyclone. On mine (see sig), I have two satellite inputs and a separate cable input in the docking station. The sat. input to the far right is to the living room and on mine, the second one goes to the basement connector on the other side. I initially could not get satellite in the living room to work on mine so I pulled the basement wall and found that the factory had wired in a splitter which is a no-no for satellite. I believe the extra cable is for the roof satellite pre-wire but I don't know that for sure. My Cyclone unfortunately does not have satellite in the bedroom or garage. Heartland's are also notorious for bad connectors on the cables. Good luck. Frank

RE: Place to store a trailer for several days while in San Diego

I think your challenge is going to be that most storage lots will want 1 month minimum. I would try some of the secure parking lots around the airport. San Park on Pacific Hwy. comes to mind. They have a large area at the back of their lot that I've seen RVs and other large vehicles parked the few times I've used the lot when flying out of San Diego. Good Luck.

Much more useful as a DD here in Southern California.

RE: Direct TV Dish for TH

Depending on whether you want standard or high definition, you can find complete kits on eBay from anywhere around $50 to $60 bucks up to $150 or so for high def. The only thing I might add to your list is a satellite signal finder. If you have a smart phone, I would also look into some of the sat. finder apps like Dish Pointer or Satellite AR. I also have a compass app on my phone to help get dialed in. Frank
