Inexpensive Satellite Finder?

Today I tried to set up our Dish 1000 for the first time. After almost 5 hours of trial and error and the help of several campers we gave up and called in a professional. He had it figured out with the help of his 1000.00 signal finder within 10 minutes.
I have the basic signal finder that beeps when I find the satellite, which today was never. I needed 111, 119, and 129. The wife was furious that it was that difficult.
Is there a decent satellite signal finder that is relatively inexpensive that works better than what I have.?

Leaving in 3 weeks-winterize? What to do?

The last time we used our trailer was this summer. We're leaving in 3 weeks for warmer climates. So I don't want to winterize but we're having some freezing temps.
What should we do to protect our trailer? Also haven't been able to get water heater
plug off to drain it. Suggestions?

Getting Car Ready To Leave At Home For Winter

This will be the first time we're leaving Oregon for warmer climate.
My wife has a 2007 Honda Civic. What do we need to do to the car to get it ready to hibernate for the winter? Do we fill the gas tank full and add a fuel stabilizer? Do we takt the battery out and hook it up to a trickle charge? Not sure what steps to take.
Thanks

Louvered Tailgate for 2007 Dodge 2500-Short bed

I committed a big no no the other day and backed in to my pin box without putting the tailgate down. Haven't yet checked the cost to repair the tailgate, but am thinking of getting a louvered tailgate so it won't happen again.
What's a good brand, and where can I get one at the best price?
Thanks

New tires squealy brakes

We just got new tires put on our fifth wheel, going from an 80R16 to an 85R16. Now the brakes are squeaking. Would the new tires be a cause of that? What's the remedy?
Thanks

Reese 16K slider lube?

Do I need to lube anything on my hitch?
Also, do I need to lube the pin? We're using the lube plate so not sure.
What kind of lube should we use on the hitch and the pin?
Thanks

Tire Recommendation

We just bought a 2007 Wildcat 30LSBS and are planning a long trip this winter and we probably should replace the tires. It currently has Transmaster ST235/80R16, 5 plies, Load "D" with a max load of 3250.
I'm not sure how to decipher the year made, DOT 8HUN 3505. I thought the last 4 digits indicated the week and year, but it doesn't make sense.
So, what would be a good tire to get without blowing up our bank account?
Also, does Les Schwab carry good brands of trailer tires?
Thanks

Honda EU3000I or 2 Yamaha EF2000is Generator

I'm not sure which way to go on this. Can't find many of the Honda's at a reasonable price on the internet. Found a pair of the Yamaha's on Ebay for under 2K. We've never had a generator, so not sure which way to go. Is it just as easy to use the 2 parallel generators as the single? Is there anything we need to be aware of regarding potential problems with one over the other? Please just the pros and cons. There may be several I haven't thought of.
Thanks

Collapsible Ladders

What size, and what kind of collapsible ladders do you have? Looking for something light weight but expands tall enough to be able to clean our 5th wheel while on the road. We're taking an extended road trip this winter with our new to us 2007 Wildcat and need some input.
Thanks.

RE: Accurate weights of 5th wheel

Thanks for all the replies. I had to weigh the trailer empty because I don't currently own the trailer. My main goal was to try and get an idea of what the actual trailer and pin weight is, in order to try and make an educated decision as to whether or not to buy the trailer. In doing so, we found a big difference in pin weight, lower than the estimated brochure weight, which honestly surprises me.
Thanks again for the input.

RE: Accurate weights of 5th wheel

The trailer is empty, but we wanted to weigh it to see if our current Dodge diesel could tow it, the pin weight being the big factor.
We don't dry camp too much so filling the water tank won't be an issue, and we figure we probably would only put about 1,000lbs of food and clothes etc in the trailer.

RE: Accurate weights of 5th wheel

Your math appears to be pretty much on....Truck loaded up with everything? 6780, then pulled your truck back on the scales with the 5er sitting on the hitch in the bed of your truck, weight then 8340...appears the pinweight is 1560...total weight 16,660 with truck and 5er, weight of the 5er is pin weight of 1560# + 8320# of the 5er being carried on it's own axles. = total weight of 9880#
Sounds like a light weight 5er and a light weight pin weight for a 5er that weighs 9880#, but your numbers should be pretty close...what is the GVW of the 5th wheel? These numbers are going to be really close....don't know too many that have easy access to scales to put under each tire....pin weight scales can be found if you know where to look, but again, your pretty much on with your math.
GVWR of trailer per the sticker is 13,500. That's why I was questioning the weights since the GVWR is so high.

Accurate weights of 5th wheel

The dealer agreed to weigh the 2007 Wildcat LSBS. We drove the truck on to the scale and the weight was 6780. We then drove to the same spot on the scale with the trailer and the weight was 8340. Does this mean the pin weight was 1560? We then drove all the way on to the scale with the trailer and the total was 16,660. Does this mean the actual weight of the trailer is 9880.
Thanks

2007 Wildcat 30LSBS

We're looking at one of these at our dealer, and it looks like it's in pretty good shape for a 2007.
The brochure weight indicates the pin weight of 1840, and a GVWR of 12,000. The sticker on the side of the trailer indicates the GVWR of 13,500 lbs. If we use the 20% guideline we'd definitely be over our payload capacity. Does anyone know the actual pin weight of one of these?
Thanks.
