RE: Winnebago Factory Service - Now spoiled

I concur with the o/p's factory service. Dealers unfortunately have the manf over a barrel. Sales is the number one objective and that is what the dealer does.I personally would like to see Winnebago set up zone repair shops around the country and take all servicing away from the dealers. The dealer would have to either take less of a mark up or share in the repair cost done by Winnebago. This will happen when elephants fly.

RE: why would you do that?

I know one fella that just doesn't like to dump tanks. So he uses c/g facilities. Makes his wife do likewise. $350000.00 motor home, what's this?

RE: Mr Clean Magic Eraser.

The single best use for Mr Clean sponges has to effotlessly clean the under side of an awning. They truly. Work like magic on dirty moldy awnings with little to no mess.

RE: Camping pet peeve

Any one with bad manners. Anyone so unfriendly to not speak as they go by or worse yet cross your site. Parties by groups who seem to think they own the campground, with loud noises, loud talking, loud laughing, and the inevitable argument. I stay home more and more, it is at least civil here in the neighborhood.

RE: Beware of Michelin tires

I have personally always had this problem with Michelin tires. One set did this at 3600 miles. Michelin would not stand behind the tire, telling me they do not adjust weather checking. I have had all Michelin's replaced with Good Years and have never had a problem with Good Years. My dealer tells me this is not unusual for Michelin's to weather check. Now when I buy a coach, I specify Good Years or it is a deal breaker.

RE: SPRAY ON RUST REMOVER

There are several products on the market and available at Wal-Mart automotive and other Auto outlets that will turn rust into a hard protective cover. I have used several and they do work well. Google Rust repair and you will probably find several.

RE: Antifreeze in everything!

I would shock the system with Clorox, then neutralize with baking soda. This should take the after taste away. You are right it will take a long time to purge the anti-freeze from the system. It has a tendency to foam a lot.

RE: Two way fridge on DC?

One thing that happens to the propane side of the fridge that causes them not work, is the easiest fix in the world. Check the propane burner on the back of the fridge. It may be completely covered up with rust dust from the chimney. Just use a little low pressure compressed air and blow it out. Usually they will fire right up and work fine. I have had to do this at least once a year to every fridge I ever owned. It is cheap, easy (as always go the easy route first). If a dealer does this for you, it will cost you $50+. There is a small access door on the burner just for this reason.PLEASE DO NOT DISCONNECT ANY GAS LINES. You do not need to.

RE: Brand new - "AS IS" ??

This is a standard "Hold Harmless" disclaimer clause. You still have recourse with the manufacturer and appliance manf's.

RE: Cheap Generator saves lives in Tornado

For camping maybe not HF gens. But don't judge every product by just one set of rules or opinions. One man's junk may be anothers gold.

RE: Help making my Refrigerator Cover White again.

You will not go wrong with Krylon Fusion. The prep is the secret to every paint job. It will last far beyong the time you own it. I had to repaint the mirror heads on my rear view mirrors. They had turned that ugly yellow from sun exposure. They looked lie brand new after prepping and using Krylon Fusion.

RE: "Pocket Hose" reviewed on Consumer Reports

I saw another report they leaked at the fittings pretty bad. I would like to believe they are a good buy. Hope there is more discussion on the forums about them.

RE: Finding Past Owner

I am different, I would be happy to discuss a previously, (owned RV by me). If it will help some one understand a problem or solve a problem, I am all for it. As far as my address and name goes, it is every where. If you don't think so just look at your mail every day. The BMV obviously in Indiana sells a lot of your information to Credit Agencies, car dealers, warranty companies etc ad infit item.
