Entry Door
I find it amazing that the only thing to fade on my 2011 fiver is the entry door plastic around the door window. It went from white to very off color white (sort of florescent). This has happened on ever camper I have owned. You think the manufacturer would make it out of a different plastic. Very annoying.

RE: 2013 megacab increased payload
For 2013, if you get the new 3500 with the 385 hp/ 850 torque engine you get a new frame, larger front/rear axles, 3 link front end, and different rear leaf springs. It also comes with more payload capacity.

My fiver came with Goodyear LT tires that are 'G' Rated. This will be the third season and I hope they continue to do well. Air pressure is the key to tires holding up.

RE: Fiver hitch for new 2013 Ram
Its not the lack of a hitch,, Its the lack of the Rail Adapter kit for the hitch. You can go conventional if you do not order the fifth wheel prep package. The whole idea of the prep package is so you don't have to have permanent rails installed.

I was told that CURT will not be manufacturing the fifth wheel adapter kit that is needed to mount your fifth wheel hitch to the 2013 Ram 3500 with the fifth wheel prep package. Reece is currently working on it. I was told by Reece it is in a testing phase. Date not mentioned for release... This is why I own a new 2012...

I noticed when I was in the Navy that it was quite hot in the summer when we went to Fort Worth to inspect the Hornet squadrons there... Wind chill in the summer in Texas is like 110 degrees...lol

The worst part of over extending the driving distance is the re-coup time when you get to your destination. I will typically pull off and stretch like others have stated... I also found that coffee does not help me stay alert like a No Doz even at 43 years of age. I like to take one to keep me as alert as possible. I tend to get tired after 4 hours of driving. Heck,,, sometimes not even that long.

I towed my last fiver, a 40 foot toyhauler from Marietta Georgia to Waldorf Maryland in one day... I was exhausted. I only did it because I was transferring from one base to another and my wife was already settled into our new home in Md.
If I have to travel long distance, normally no more than 6-8 hours or 400 miles.

Pre Trip Checks
Today after work I de-winterized my fiver and started to get things ready for our up coming trip for the Memorial Day weekend. Glad I did. Noticed one of my trail air suspension guage was registering zero PSI for the left side wheels. Got my air compressor, filled to the required 70 psi and leaked back to zero in a matter of minutes. Removed the guage panel screwes and found the brass fitting where the air line is held into the gauge had a crack all the way thru the threads. Now I have to find a new one. It is always good to check things out a week prior to taking a trip after the long winter. If I would of waited until next Friday it would of delayed our trip or worst, we would of not been able to go. Now I have to get the part.
If anyone knows a store that carries the Female Connector Parker #66PMT-4-2 I would appreciate your help. I might have to wait and call Lippert on Monday..

We will be staying at Bethpage campground for the holiday... The in-laws will be doing there first rv trip with their 42' toy hauler. It will be nice. Two 40 footers facing each other and lots of cold beverages and BBQ... and I get to let my soon to be 3 year old hang out with grammy and pappy while I take a nap for a change....

First,,, welcome to the forum...Our rv has a 4000 lb. pin weight. The truck has over 5000 max carry capacity. I did add airbags and that really helps with stability. We have 15,000 lbs on the campers 3 axles. You do have to add all the people and extra gear to the equation. We tipped the scales at 27540 lbs.

Are you looking for just a hitch or the addapter kit for the fifth wheel prep package? I bought the Curt Q24 on Amazon. Hitch has a 24,000 capacity and a 6000 lb pin weight capacity.
Where you able to get a fifth wheel adapter kit for the 2013 3500?
