RE: Voltage slides

Seal dressing works on mine. if you put grease on the rails in the sides of your slides have fun getting it all off, it will cause the slide to collect dirt and dust causing it to not work correctly. The gear rails use dry lube only. Happy Camping Dan & Janice I seem to call anything grease. I've been using dry lube.

Voltage slides

Everything is working great but have a squeaking sound when the slides come in and out. No grinding sounds. Still goes in correctly and doesn't seem to be binding or straining. I have greased the little wheels under the tracks on the slides but that hasn't worked. Any ideas. Also greased the rollers under the slide and still nothing. Any ideas. BTW....that is hard to get back in there between the slide seals.

RE: Saying goodbye to my Voltage

If you get a chance after a few trips report back in on how the class A compares to the fifth wheel overall. I would love to have a DP but when thinking of all the advantages there are to a fifth wheel TH and the fact I need a pickup for my business, there is no reason to consider a DP but boy they are sweet. Congrats on the new ride.

RE: fresh water tank won't fill completely

Quick update. I blew air into the vent and all worked well. I only filled it 2/3 full but that is far more than I got before so that means its working. Funny how this has never happened to me before but then again I've only filled the fresh water tank about 2 times. On the generator, all is working fine now. Don't know what happened that day. Thanks again.

RE: fresh water tank won't fill completely

Thanks guys. I'll give it a try. Never had this problem before. On the black tank issues...never had the fan running while flushing. That's just weird but it has only done it a few times and is working well now. Always something.

fresh water tank won't fill completely

Have a 2012 3600 voltage. Last yr the fresh water filled completely but did it this past week and only got a 1/3 full (said on the gauge) and couldn't fill anymore. I do here air coming out of the air vent next to the fill port. On another note and maybe related after having this problem the generator would not run properly without the cap loose. Never did that before. Has something possibly shifted underneath?? Also on another note.....lol.....I've had this problem happen a few times then correct itself. The black tank doesn't vent correctly as in when flushing it will bubble up then after the tank gets about 1/3 full you'll be flushing you'll hear a "woosh" sound and all is better. This has happened about 3 times in the last yr or so. Again maybe related?? I know alot of questions. Any ideas.

RE: 5th wheels vs motor homes

One other advantage is that you can get fuel before leaving the campground without having to drag the camper. I was camping recently and was able to find fuel a few cents cheaper at this station that only cars/pu's would want to go. Really all the stations in the area were tight to get into and I sure wouldn't want to trying it with a 40ft mh pulling a car.

RE: Voltage a/c filter??

Thanks so much, I'll get to it tomorrow. Marc, too funny. It has been tempting but the suspension and all the hitch hardware is too heavy built and I'm afraid I might do some damage to the TH frame or at least the hitch. I do have a flatbed trailer that weighs about the same as my th empty and when using that the mack doesn't even know its back there. It totally rocks!! Thanks

Voltage a/c filter??

I need to check the inside filters on my a/c's I haven't looked yet but where would they be? Thanks.

RE: 5th wheels vs motor homes

One advantage of having a truck and fifth wheel is that you can upgrade just one part at a time. Truck have really been increasing in power and capacity over the last few years and the latest ones have become powerhouses. So much so that unless you're into the large DP, the fifth wheel/pick up combo is going to perform much better. Also safety wise, pick ups are crash tested along with the mfg's putting in airbags/impact protection safety devises. Google motorhome crashes....not a pretty sight. Also depending on what type of camping you do the 4x4 can come in handy. We love this one campground and it has grass sites next to a creek. It happened to be a very wet fall last year. While camping there, the sites were not completely soft but were mushy. I was able to back in and with the 4x4 on able to ease my way back into the site with no trouble. Next site over a motorhome pulls in and about sunk it to the axles. Ended up having a tractor pull him out and he had to camp in a site far from the creek.

RE: Make & Model Advice (Purchase)

Maybe the op is comparing his current setup to what he's looking at. I have a voltage toyhauler similar to his and pull with a truck with very similar hp/tq. We are about 26k gross and with 350hp/650tq that's a nice power to weight ratio and allows us to accelerate decently and maintain speed on hills. I also have a semi with 505hp/1750tq and when grossing 45k similar to weights of these large motorhomes, it's a rocket....not so much when above 65. Lol Hit the nail on the head. My Ford has the Spartan Tuner and I'm running 575hp with the tune. Can pull the 5ver up any hill at 75mph if I wanted to. I know these big DP aren't going to do that! Good gracious that is some hp. How do you keep that thing together? I think with what you are use to, you might want to consider a truck conversion. It would have similar performance. My Mack truck has a 13 liter engine rated at 505hp/1750tq and has the 12 speed automated manual transmission. If I load it up to 50k like a heavy motorhome, I could pull most hills at 75mph. The 12 speed is very smooth. No clutch and with that many gears, you could pull anything you want. Just a thought.

RE: Tires made it!!

TST is the system I'm using. So far it has worked well. Thanks for all the positive replies. Other than the one odd one wearing a bit more than the others all is good. If by the end of the year this one is much worse than the others, I might have the axles checked for alignment. Thanks.

Tires made it!!

Well we just completed a 13 day journey to Florida that was around 2000 miles round trip on the factory china tires. I did have the TPMS and watched the temps and pressure. No problems. I did keep it around 65mph for the tires safety and that worked well with the Dodge which averaged 8.8mpg. Not bad. So I have about 3500 miles on these tires total. I'm not gonna press my luck and will be replacing them after this season. I do have one tire on the passenger rear that does seem to be wearing a bit faster than the others on the outer edge. The temp and pressure stayed inline with the other tires so I'm not sure if it's just because of a cheap tire or maybe out of alignment. I'll keep an eye on it. So just giving a follow up on the post I asked awhile back about replacing the tires prior to the trip. Thanks

RE: 2014 Voltage?

Anybody know exactly what makes up the "Epic 2" package? I have an early 2013 3950 with the "Epic" package. Just curious, as there's never been anything on the Voltage website about an Epic 2 package. Seems the biggest thing is the hydraulic leveling system instead of electric, color scheme, some extra wood trim inside, and a new cord reel for the 50 amp cord. The hydraulic lifts are the best part. I like the hydraulic leveling system. Now they need to get hydraulic slides and drop the schwintek crap. :)

RE: Problems with Sony MEX-DV2200 Voltage 3950

Have that happen. Push the little button with the microphone emblem. When pushed it says mic on. That will take care of it.

RE: Excel Wild Cargo

I love my Voltage but if it has the same track record this yr as it did last; I'll sure be wishing I had gone with a WC. lol

RE: Another tire question.

Quick update. We're set to go next Tuesday if we don't get too much snow here. I did get a tire monitoring system and have set the pressure up a little to 70psi. They are rated for 80 psi but just after running for a half hr the psi usually gets to about 76psi. I only have bicycles in the back and come in around 16.5k so I'm really not loading it up much. I also talked to my tire guy that I use for all our farm/semi truck needs and he has sold that brand of tire from time to time and didn't have any problems with them. He felt I should be fine with what I have. He also said running at that psi would be fine and help with the ride of the trailer. I'll let you know when I get back on how it all worked out. For sure I'll be switching them out after this yr since they'll be going on 2yrs. Thanks.

RE: LCI Level Up Issue - External Sensor Error?

The control board should be in the front compartment above the generator. Check for any loose wires there. When I put in my batteries, I knocked a wire loose. When I went to use the jacks, it told me to "check wiring". Only took me a minute to spot it and fix it. Yep that is where I would check first. I had a problem last year when the center stabilizer jack wouldn't go up after a weekend camping. Would give an error message and wouldn't allow the jacks to go up. Ended up being a bad wiring harness to the center jack. Warranty replaced the harness and the control board. So far no problems.

south of the border,sc

We're heading to FL during the middle of March and we're planning a midway overnight stop. This seems to be about the area we would be stopping from a days travels. My wife has always passed by there as a kid and would like to stop. I figured make this an overnight stop. I've done a search here and for the most part it seems like everyone says the campground is decent. I checked on another site and there most everyone said it was a dump. Anyone recently camped there and how do you rate this place.
