When the recalls started years ago I cooked for our two dogs. After Callie passed away I stopped because hubby thought commercial foods were good enough for his dog. After she had a pancreatitis attack I went back to cooking for the dogs. We have two medium sized dogs (around 55 pounds). It's not cheap, and it is somewhat time consuming, but it is keeping them healthy so it's worth it! I also make them chicken jerky treats. Nothing but pure dried chicken. They love it!

I think it's kinda fun to see what science says is in a dogs DNA.
I have a Red Heeler mix. It's guessed that she is part Brittany Spaniel. Other than coloring, I don't see it. I'd love to know what she really is.

Yikes! Glad it turned out as well as it did! Always scary to see your dog meeting a strange dog when you can not intervene.

I'm not familiar with colon cancer. I hope your surgery goes well and your treatment is tolerable. Quality of life is the name of the game. I hope you both have excellent quality of life. I'm stage IV breast cancer. If there is anything I can do for you please don't hesitate to ask.
