RE: Towing camper w/o electric brake controller

All this aside you a going to tow with a 2004. If you dont regularly excersise your anti lock brake pump witch most of us dont the added weight may trigger this in some braking situations. This may make it stick giving you a ABS light and then having to replace the pump. I would not tow without the electric brakes.

RE: Motorcycle Wheel Chock

http://www.harborfreight.com/motorcycle-wheel-chock-69026.html
I bought this at Harbor Freight. The base plate bolts to the floor the top attaches to the plate for easy removal when not in use. The base plate is less than 1" off the floor. We through a rug over it and never triped over it. One suggestion though. You should put a block of wood under the frame on the bike to the floor so that when you strap it down you get a firm conection between the bike and the floor. If you dont the springs will travel and loosen up the straps and you will open the door to a bike laying agaist the wall. (dont ask how I know) Happy bike hauling!!!!!

2003 Suburban LT 1500

I just bought a used 2003 Suburban LT. Two questions I have. I hear like a fan with a leaf stuck in it in the drivers door. Is there rally a blower in the door? Also the CD changer seems to be stuck with 3 disks in it. Any way short of tearing out the radio to get these out? Thanks in advance for comments and help.

RE: RV Park Near Griffith, Indiana (Northwest corner of State)

Check this one out, Sand Creek Campgrounds - 1000 N 350 E, Chesterton IN - 219-926-7482.
Also, the campground at Indiana Dunes State Park is a good choice. It is located at Chesterton also. Here is the website: http://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/2980.htm
X2 But if you choose the dunes book early alas on the holidays they book up fast. This would be my choice though right on the lake and Chesterton is a great place to visit. Small town feel only minutes to Chicago.

RE: Furnace keeps shuting off.

My two cents worth....If the cover were "off all night" and the furnace ran fine all night going thru many cycles, but with the cover on the problem recreates itself, then faulty switches should not be the first suspect. IMHO the cover MAY be in close contact with wiring and has chaffed the wiring just enough to allow current to jump to the cover and short out that circut from operating properly. That chaffing would occur over time caused by vibration from over the road travel. I'd take a very very close look at any wiring that could come in contact with the backside of the furnace cover to eliminate that as a possibility. The wire need not be chaffed completetly to the bare wire to cause problems. It can even be a very hard to see crack in the wires insulation. Look for a clean small section of wire that has no (dust/grim) on it and look for a possible crack/break in the wire cover material. Careful not to create a clean section by handeling the wiring before inspection of suspect area. Good luck and please post the final solution.
Still fighting issue. Looked for any bad wires but because its still kind of new. I am going to try zip stripping the switch up off the motor. Maybe getting hot form that? Willing to try anything at this point.

RE: Furnace keeps shuting off.

How do You "Flip" a Sail Switch?
This is what the dealer called it. It is an actual switch outside kind of just laying on the blower motor with two wires coming off it. Both are black.

RE: Furnace keeps shuting off.

Were you operating off the battery or plugged into shore power/generator at the time? If you were operating off the battery and it got low that could cause your problem due to low voltage not allowing the fan to spin fast enough to activiate the sail switch. If that is the case and your dealer is testing with unit plugged in they will never find the problem due to the converter providing sufficient power independant of the battery
We were plugged in all week.

Furnace keeps shuting off.

We recently went out for a week long vacation. At night it went down to below 30 degrees. We had the furnace running overnight each night. When we would get up in the morning the furnace would not start and upon investigation it was found that the sail switch on the outside of the MH was tripped. Flipping the switch would turn it back on instantly. The last night we left the cover off on the outside of the MH and low and behold the furnace ran fine all night. Is this a air flow problem. Have had back to the dealer but naturally they cant recreate the problem. 2011 Coachman Concorde

RE: when filling fresh water tank water goes to black tank

Now that I am at home and think about it. I must have had the waterhose connected to the black tank flush connection instead of the tank fill connection. I feel a little foolish right now. I guess was too excited about deer season and setting up camp to think clearly. Thanks for your help.
Very easy to do. They make the tank flush connection white and the rest black. I did the same thing last time out. Bet we will both never do that again! LOL

If the line is not too long replace it with braided fuel line. Absolutely no way they will chew through that! Will cost some extra but will be one time fix!
