RE: Lug nuts

I have a 2006 cougar 5th wheel w/ 235/80/16 tires. I had looked up how much torque to put on the lug nuts. It said 120 lbs to tighten them unless it a cambridge I should put 140 lbs. What is a cambridge and how do I know if it is????
Bob
It is a "brand" of trailer. Use 120 ft. lbs.

RE: No to Mexico? Feel safe here.

Because it is a public, opinion based forum and they have opinions?? I thought I was pretty clear; no one answers to me in their pursuit of happiness nor do I want them too whether it is travelling the 7 continents, or building an underground shelter. You seem very upset that some would not want to travel to certain places. There are many places in North America I have no desire to travel to for my own reasons. Surely you support the idea that we are not all the same and view happiness in very different ways? What you call "fear" they may view as happiness. We cannot define what makes others happy, only ourselves.

RE: st joseph pennisula and st george island state parks

The beach at St Josephs is beautiful, the beach at St George is not as pretty but is wide, has great shells, and is deserted for the most part. You will not be able to go outside in the CG at St George without serious bug repellent for mosquitos. The number of mosquitos there is astounding and they want your blood. Dining in Apalachicola is easy, lots of choices

RE: 1 Year with the '12 Super Duty

Great report. There are a few folks on this forum who swear it is a ticking time bomb and a couple who actually had a problem, but there are so many happy owners that I think Ford is a serious player in the diesel engine market again as well as being the sales leader for trucks.

RE: No to Mexico? Feel safe here.

It's called the "pursuit of happiness" and it is a God given inalienable right for all. Not my cup of tea but they probably don't like doing the things I do either. I am just glad we don't have to conform to what someone else thinks is the right way to live.
The point of the above quote escapes me. Anyone who is a US Citizen does have the right to do and go as they choose. No one has to go anywhere. We can also choose to be afraid or not to be afraid. It is a choice. If you do not want to go to Mexico there is no reason for you to go. But many posts on this forum come from those who clearly indicate they would not go because they are afraid. A choice. And a Right. But I would think “pursuit of happiness” would mean living free of fear. I personally would not be happy if I were afraid. Again, living in fear is a choice. Whether it be in the US or Mexico – it is a choice. The people who are marketing this idea of living in the world’s largest shelter want to sell to those who choose to live in fear. They will sell you a way to hide from those things you are afraid of (whatever those may be – I do not know). Those of us who travel to Mexico do not choose not to be afraid. It is not a conscious thought. We do not understand those who live in fear. If the US State Department were to rate the US on the same scale they do for other countries I seriously doubt the US would score very high in the ratings. The US has one of the highest crime rates and murder rates in the world. You do not hear of semi-automatic weapons wiping out movie theaters or elementary schools in Mexico. Maybe citizens of the US need a place to hide underground to be safe?
The point is simply everyone decides what they want to do and are free to choose that path without needing my approval, whether travelling in Mexico or hunkering down in a bunker. I doubt they would do it (build shelters) if it did not bring some semblance of security and "happiness" to them. The pursuit of happiness is quite clearly not defined and thus is left to be defined by the pursuer. BTW, we do hear plenty about mass killings in Mexico, maybe not a school, but some serious stuff goes down there too.

Use lots of water, wait until it is about full until you dump it.

RE: Okay...someone tell me I'm not weird!!

Sometimes I worry about myself because my love of TTs seems a bit overboard. So, confession time...
I speed up when I see a TT on the road so I can get close and check it out.
When going camping, I seriously ENJOY setting up our TT and have been known to be a little disappointed when the TT doesn't need leveling. (My wife can't understand this.)
Part of the FUN of camping is walking around the CG and looking at other people's rigs.
I LOVE looking online at accessories for my TT.
I LOVE talking about TTs to anyone who will listen.
So someone PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one like this!!! ;)
So.., what's the problem? I thought you said you went overboard?

Wright's "Camping with the COE" is OK and probably the best available. I use Recreation.gov for the ones that take reservations.

RE: Tow vehicle

Since it is a TH you would best be served to purchase a truck that can handle the entire GVWR of the trailer easily as you may well fill it up to it's CCC capacity at some point. A properly equipped 3/4 ton late model/new truck would do just fine.

Nothing and I have camped the length and breadth of Florida in the state park system and leave my chairs, grills and such out all the time. I do lock my vehicle and TT at night but I never lock my storage boxes.

Oh I would have walked off so fast he wouldn't have known what happened until I showed back up the next morning and then everyone would have known. I feel your anguish and understand. Fortunately, we can and will help. You also now know to NEVER accept that sort of treatment ever again! I make a point of telling those I make a major purchase from that NO money (other than normal deposits) changes hands until I am satisfied. Please post the dealers name!

You likely will not have enough payload for the pin weight but without actual payload and pin weight info that is only my opinion.
