RE: So what's your take on this article?

Sounds like most of the places here in Florida. The upper crust ones just opt for the double wides.:B:B And the super rich go for the homes. It's going to happen to all of us someday,so just get a place that you enjoy.

RE: squirrels under the hood

Moth balls under the hood.Use them on the show car.Zip tie a soup can with the moth balls in it somewhere away from any major heat source. And any cabin air intakes.

RE: Might be forced to buy Diesel

The 6 mile trips might be bad for the diesel. But if a daily driver, why can't you just do a 30 mile or longer trip at highway speeds every couple of weeks. I have just over 45,000 miles on mine, but that includes 2 trips to CA and back to FL. Plus 2 trips to WI,and Texas every year. Probably 80% of my mileage is towing. Most of my normal drives are about 20-30 miles round trip only because I live in the country. If you go the diesel route,Blackstone Labs does the oil sample checks and gives a very detailed report. Then will recommend what needs to be done to your driving.

RE: install rv power awning on home?

Installed the awning from a 5'er we had in Falling Waters,W.V. on the house. We had the camper under a roof at the campground,so no need for it there. Was still on the house and working when I left MD 6 years ago.It was a manual one though. To just go and buy an awning,I'd go with Sunsetter, cheaper and way better quality.

RE: Washing clothes at a campground.

We were just at a N.C. campground that said in the rules,no washer/dryer use allowed. How can the actually tell, unless the trailer is shaking from the spin cycle. Personal have no need or room for a washer/dryer.

RE: Deep discount on 1 model year old TH?

Got ours over 1 year old. Some of the pics they had of it showed over a year of lot sitting according to the dates on the pics. But we bought ours during the rv depression a few years back.Listed for mid 80's,they wanted low 60's,then it went on sale for $49,000,got it for $30,00 cash out the door. No one was buying rv's,let alone one this big. Only problem now is that CW knows what we paid for it,bought it in St.Augustine and looking to trade it in at Lake City for a smaller 38' non toy hauler. They seem to think that $20 G's is a good deal, maybe for them, but not us.

RE: TrailerLife HT towable fifth wheel article

When the say aluminum frame, they mean the body frame, not the actual under carriage frame. Even most semi box trailers are aluminum framed.

RE: Anyone know about the Chevy 409 truck engine ?

Kind of ironic that as young-uns most of us had high horsepower, gas guzzling,4 speed cars. Most of us made minimum wage, like what,a $1 or $2 an hour, put gas in the car,hit the soda fountain, fast food places with a date, not to mention the guy at the tire store was always standing outside his store with floor jacks and new tires every time he heard you driving down the road, and still had a few $$ in our pockets. Now we make in an hour what we made in a few days, and we worry about gas mileage. Where did we go wrong? Was buying the camper the straw that did it. Sure can't be the house, wife and kids.:B

RE: Who can be the last poster?

The professor had his own agenda. I think he wanted them to stay on the island so he could show off his inventions to the Howells so he could get start up money for his research lab when he finally helped them get off the island :b:b always about the money :b and he had a thing for Mary Ann :b Funny, but we never would of thought of that back in the day. Would like to see "modern" version of it now. Can just see 4 or 5 little ones running around the island, the arguments of living that close together,Gilligan wearing Mrs Howels outfits.:B:B

RE: Who can be the last poster?

He could make a radio out of a coconut, but had no clue of how to fix a hole. Guess all those trees and vines would of confused him.
