RE: help with water pump problem

Remove the little screen and push the button hidden underneath a few times to free it's motion. Should cure the check valve problem. If not it's replaceable.
I've given up on the little rubber cover and have a solid, screw in plug on our fresh water inlet. Solves both problems.
Putting antifreeze in the fresh water tank is a poor procedure. For starters this tank is never completely empty so you're pumping diluted antifreeze into the system and this "tasteless" antifreeze ain't tasteless. Your water will taste "pink" all next season.

What he said. These things are cheap, if it were mine I would just replace it. I picked up clear tubing from the hardware store and dis connect the inlet side of the pump, hook the tubing to it and pump straight from the bottle. Quick and easy.

RE: Replacing a Thermostat

Most house thermostats are powered by the furnace. RV furnace has no provision for that. The only good reason to not get a digital thermostat is if you enjoy the wild heat swings you get with a mechanical version. Too hot followed by too cold! :)
The LUX heat-only digital I had in my popup was very stable as is the heat/AC Hunter in the Roo. The Hunter is $20 at Home Depot, not a big expense.
-- Chuck
HMMMMMM, a lot cheaper than I would have thought.

RE: First camping trip in the HTT!

Glad to hear you had a great experience on your first trip. Such an upgrade going from a popup to an HTT. You will find the bathroom very convenient especially in the middle of the night, and a lot more space and storage.
Enjoy your HTT and start building memories.

RE: Replacing a Thermostat

Any heat only stat will work and are far less expensive than a heat cool or set back stat.

RE: shelf mod again

Nice job. It will be easier on you (& us) if you post all of your similar photos in 1 thread.

RE: Moving On

We will miss your input. Hope you enjoy your new venture in the south. We moved here over 12 years ago and have not regretted a minute of the move. We may give up the rv scene in a few years if the ole health starts moving south with me. Best of luck.

RE: bed rails?

Might want to check at Wal Mart or Amazon to see what they have. That should be an easy thing to find. Local sales may have something posted as well.

RE: New kind of hybrid (take 2)

your link doesn't work (at least for me)...:?
You would need to copy and paste to get that to work.

RE: New kind of hybrid (take 2)

Doesn't look like something I would be interested in. I like a little more room than what that provides. Plus, mama doesn't use comfort stations to shower and the such.

RE: Water damage

Just wondering how hard it's gonna be to get, the shower out and things like that
That stuff isn't that hard to remove and put back. The question is, how much damage is there that can't be noticed until opened up. Sounds like you may not want to try this on your own.

RE: Water damage

I would go a little deeper than an overlay if it were my rig. I recently had the floor replaced in out rig. First I repaired the cause of the damage then had the floor replaced, then laminate placed over that. Cost was about $1600.00 dollars to have it done. If you do an overlay that's what you have, a bad floor with a cosmetic fix on top of it.

RE: New camping reservation system in TN

Are the CG letting campers pick the site they want or are they just assigned randomly?
You can pick your site if available for the dates you want.

RE: New camping reservation system in TN

I like the idea of reservations. Seems that every time we use a state facility we find it hard to get a site because of various reasons. It will be nice to know that when we get there our site is waiting. Thanks for the post.

RE: Door leak on Roo.

Sounds as if they will know about the problem and will probably will move forward on repairing it for you or send you the kit to fix yourself. Let them know that this was brought up on this site and that others have reported the same problem. Good luck.

RE: HTT with squeaking left rear wheel

I too paid $80 per axle to do the same thing as Chuck. As he said, saves from getting dirty plus if it messes up I don't have it to do over myself.

RE: Floor replacement project pending

To bad you don't live closer to Knoxville,TN. I would have the ideal guy to do the fix. It's important to find the cause of the leak and make sure it's fixed before doing any floor repair. If you don't it will just be a matter of time before you're right back where you started. Good luck on the fix.

RE: How much should I sell my htt for?

Check KBB or NADA prices, find a range that is comfortable to you for your area and condition of your rig. If you are honest with this assessment you should be able to come to a fair price. As stated these things do depreciate but if you got a great deal up front you may be in good shape on price.

RE: Advise on what to pay for Hybrid

If it is in real good shape the price is in the right range.
I wouldn't take less than that for my '05 ROO 236.

RE: Awning

If you decide to do this be real CAREFUL. You can break something, on you, if the spring loaded tube gets away from you. A broken hand or wrist won't be much fun. If you have the style awning with the black clips the top section of the inner arm will not go completely inside the outer arm. That's what creates the tension to hold them together. If you have at least one travel screw in your awning The fabric should not have moved. At the very least there should be a screw in the front section of the awning rail that goes through the awning as well as the nylon rope .
