RE: I must have been a good boy.

We still burn wood, and we take our own, never bought wood. The thought of not having to cut, split, stack, and load wood sure does sound nice I wonder how much propane a night at the fire uses.

RE: indoor pool

Never been here at Otter Lake Resort near/in the Pocono's but have been wanting to try it. They do advertise an indoor pool. They seem to be about 3-1/2 hours from where you are. I checked reviews and there seem to be a mix, though mostly good. :) Indoor pool and hot tub. Very nice campground.

RE: Electrical help needed

Knowing you had some fried wires, it may be a good idea to make sure no other components got damaged. Just because you get power now, there could have been some internal damage on your microwave, etc.

RE: Electrical help needed

Lighting is 12 volt, so the genny has nothing to do with the lights working. Does it have an automatic transfer switch? Ours doesn't. We have to plug our 30amp shore power cord into a receptacle in the storage compartment that is powered by the genny. Do the receps work when plugged in to shore power? If not, check for a GFI recep. Seeing you are from the Endless Mtns of Pa, you should check the link in my signature.

RE: Bigfoot Spotted?

Another Pa Bigfoot report, from about a year ago.... JACKSOWN TOWNSHIP, Pa. —Police responding to a call of broken windows on a motor home in Dauphin County said they were told that Bigfoot may be to blame. A Pennsylvania State police trooper checked out the vehicle damage along the 400 block of Division Street in Lykens Boro around noon on Thursday. The person making the complaint told the trooper that taillights and windows on his 1973 Dodge Winnebago had been smashed. The victim also had a suspect in mind. "Prior to these incidents, the victim related that he saw a Bigfoot in the area of his RV ," a state police news release states. "The actor is described as very large, brown in color, and walks somewhat hunched over." Police said the man told them that after he saw the Bigfoot, he turned on an outside light on his motor home and upon doing so, the Bigfoot began throwing rocks at the light to prevent discovery. Police say that the victim was unable to describe if the Bigfoot was hairy. via WGAL New 8 (wgal.com)

RE: Camping World Store in Harrisburg??

Does anyone know of Camping World store being built in Harrisburg PA??:h Some say that the Grumbine's rv store is rebuilding into a full size CW.:C Old post but yes. Grumbine's is becoming a CW Supercenter. Personally, I can't wait. It will sure beat the drive to jersey. Last I heard, it was set to open in January, 2014. Looking for updated info now.

RE: Campgrounds with water parks/water slides

Knoebles Amusement Park, Elysburg, PA. They have camping, a very small pool in the campground, a large pool at the park with 2 waterslides, and a free admission amusement park. You buy a book of tickets and pay by the ride on weekends and they have armband/handstamp specials through the week. Great thing is you don't have to pay $40 dollars to get in just so the kids can enjoy the park. We've been to Knoebels many times - it is an awesome amusement park. but beware the CG next to Knoebels has many sites that are pretty small in size. Check first to make sure your rig will fit in the site, and don't expect to have a lot of open space around you - your neighbors will be very close by. Knoebels has another campground down the road. Lake Glory. They run shuttles to and from the park. There are other campgrounds in the area, also.

RE: Lake In Wood Campground - Is it always like this?

We've only been to LIW once. The grounds are beautiful and the staff was friendly. The post about the previous owner Klaus passing away recently is correct. The cg was bought by Sun Rv Resorts. Perhaps the new management was under pressure? Just guessing. The new management was there when the old owners had it. Just in a different role. I agree it is a more expensive place, but it is very well kept.

From what I hear the only thing that changed is that they now have water slides.

RE: Delaware Water Gap Camping

Too bad Driftstone doesn't allow reservation of riverbank sites unless you stay a week. and only 1 dog, and no sewer hookup.
