I weighed the coach within the first year we owned it and looked up the pressures. Ran 98 or so in the rears and 95 on the fronts. Check the pressure every trip. No TPMS.

Always figured I would carry a spare if we went out west or farther but didn't think we would need one on the east coast.

Definetely going to put new tires on the front and carry an old front as a spare.

I have pictures I will upload when I get back to a decent internet connection and have time.

Wouldn't the inside left rear tire have been overloaded by driving the MH the 2-3 miles to the campground?

I replaced my rears when left inside blew out. No signs of any problems on remaining tires but felt more comfortable with new tires on the rear. Fronts were replaced the year before.

Big Katuna: Just to let ya know I feel for ya....but "AAA" in Cincinnati isnt worth Jack Doodlie Squat for ANYTHING. Thusly we have Coach Net and it covers the cars as well.

Good luck guy!

Had about the same experience with AAA RV. If you know who you want, and where you want to be towed too, they're really very good.

Once you leave your home area the rules change and it becomes very frustrating. There system has no knowledge about RV services in an area. For that reason I jumped ship to Coach-Net. Haven't used them yet, so I don't know if they're any better.

Good post, thanks for sharing your misery. I have read many post of RVer's having problems with Goodyear tires. I am going to stay away from Goodyear and AAA.

First problem I read was the 04 tire date. I dunno about the rest of the readers - but that's the first sign. Second is not checking to see if you have a spare. Each of our trucks carries an unmounted spare, because you just never know when you'll be needing it - second sign. Anyone who has spent any amount of time in the South knows that tires go bad faster there, than up North. UV eats up tires - third sign.

My advice is skip AAA, use CoachNet or Good Sam and buy an unmounted spare and check all the tires for dry rot and age.

I also found out the hard way that AAA and AARP road service isn't the way to go with the RV. I had AARP and thought I was covered until I had a flat in Louisiana and the AARP telephone service dude told me they didn't cover my RV. Now I have Good Sam ERS and have had good lucj with them. Big Katuna isn't kidding about the cell service in Georgetown. We have a condo in Welaka(about 15 miles North) and the service is terrible there too. For those of you who aren't acquainted with the area, it's beautiful, but even though it's not the "middle of nowhere", you can see it from there.

Your tires are not even five years old yet. I would think the cause was something else?

Tire age was probably arround 5 years so should not have been a factor. You may be able to get some help on the tire cost from Goodyear as that seems to be what you replaced it with another one. You will need the failed tire (so they can verify the cause of failure) and any documentation of having weighed your motorhome. Would also help if you maintain a fueling log to show the motorhome does not set for long periods of time (several months) or a travel log.
