We're looking for a good spot to park for a month in December that is a reasonable drive to the Houston airport. We'll be flying out for a week so something within a 1 to 2 hour drive to the airport would be ideal. A place near the beach would be nice, but not essential. I'm not familiar with Galveston, but I've heard mixed things.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We like Rayford Crossing in Spring, TX. Always stop if we are in the area. About 1 hour from airport.
Very nice place, don't know about monthly rate.

Which Houston airport? The RV parks on South Main are close Hobby, usually less than 15 minutes around the 610. The Rayford Crossing is very close to Bush.

One to two hours from Bush, you could be out as far as Huntsville, or in one of the RV parks along TX-19 around the Trinity river, providing you are not mixing in with a rush hour jam on I-45.

Rayford Crossing in the Woodlands area is a nice campground, but a little difficult to get to. I had a problem with the owners, They ordered me off the property after I complained about their landscape contractor. The contractor caused numerous chips in the paint from a weed eater picking up and throwing rocks into the side of the motor.

Looks like a nice park, although from the online reservation system it doesn't appear they have availability for the whole month. I'll follow up with a phone call to see if they can squeeze us in.

Thanks.

Look at Dellenara RV Park down in Galveston and you can stay right on the beach. IF IAH is the airport you are using then plan on almost 2 hour drive depending on time of day (could be worse). Hobby airport is closer and on the South side of town.

I can tell where not to stay. Trader Village, oh everything is nice and neat. Concret and ashphalt. We stayed there a few weeks ago and when the guy next to us go all of his slides out and my slide out we could have passed each other coffee out our dianing room window

Green Caye (http://www.greencayervpark.com/)
in League city is a nice park, reasonable rates. Concrete pads. Close to Galveston and the beach. South of Houston, with easy access to Hobby or Intercontinental, north of Houston.

Quintana Beach Park is located on the beach just south of Galveston about fifty minutes and it's about an hour and fifteen minutes to Hobby airport and about an hour and forty five minutes to IAH Bush airport. There is a brand new camp ground just outside Lake Jackson right on the banks of Oyster Creek but I don't know the name. PM me if interested and I can get the information.
