We had an Oven Fire some time back. How do I eliminate the residual smoke smell? it was in our Apartment, not the RV.

God Bless!

First - Clean everything...

Then use Freshwave

Go to Ace hardware, rent ozone generator, plug in and let run for a couple of days with everything closed up. Gets every smell out of everything.

you can not be in there while it is running. Just let it do it's thing.

It's what we use to turn cars from "smoker cars" to "non-smoker" cars.

Awesome, NorthernLimits! We moved into an old house with old smells and I have been unhappy for awhile but I will rent this to breathe fresher air again.
Thanks!

Just read the instructions. When I do a house, I do a room at a time so I can close the room off.

Pie pans with about 3/8 to 1/2 inch of vinegar. Set several around the area and change daily till smell goes away. Burnt a pan of oatmeal a while back and a fire figher friend told me about this methon and it worked.

And if the smoke damage is bad enough you need to repaint- prime with Kilz Original Primer first to seal the surface. Works great as a smoke/stain blocker.

Let's expound on that warning/disclaimer. NO LIVING THING, can be in the house while the ozone generator is in use. NO PEOPLE, NO PETS, nothing that you want to live. It will displace the oxygen in the house.

I had a major fire in my kitchen....resulted in us having to live in a hotel for 3 weeks. We had the rolling black smoke. We were advised to take the hinges and handles off the cupboard doors and wash. It was amazing how much soot we found behind there!! We also took the moulding off that was up by the ceiling. That, too, had soot. After that, NO ONE could smell smoke in our house. We sold the house 2 yrs later and the realtors and buyers were shocked to find out there'd been a fire.

The Smoke in here was pretty Thick. My Friend started to open the Oven.
I told him to leave it shut and let it burn out.
He would have burned the Place down, if I had not stopped him.
It looks like we will have to replace the electric Range. The Oven no longer works.
The smell is barely noticeable when you walk in from outside, so it is not bad. After you have been inside for a couple of Minutes, you cannot smell it. I do not think it is bad enough to rent a Ozone Generator. Would the Vinegar be enough in that Case?
