Ok so I pulled out of the site without unplugging shore power cord. The cord pulled out of the shore power without any obvious problems. Did I get lucky? I plugged it back in and everything still worked but I didn't know if it was running off of shore power or battery. How do I tell which one it is running off of? And anything I need to check to make sure I didn't mess anything up? My power cord is one that is built into the trailer.

Thanks for the help. You can bet I won't do this again. Will be making a full walk around the trailer before pulling out.

Unless you have a built in inverter you should be able to check any AC appliance. Microwave or Air Conditoner for instance. If you have an inverter you can turn it off. I keep a cast-off list in the driver's door pocket I refer to anytime I am leaving a camp site. Removing the AC power cord is one of the items listed.

Sounds like you got lucky. I would still take a look at the terminal connections where the power cord hooks up to be sure.

The AC won't work off the battery, nor will the microwave.

If there is no obvious damage to the plug or the cord, maybe you did indeed get lucky! Can you get to the other end of the cord to check those connections also? No pedestal attached to the plug end, right?

BTW, welcome to forum! We all live and learn!

Might want to make you a laminated check list to use. I try to do a walk around before pulling out of the spot. I made me a little flag to hang on my antenna crank just to make sure it is down. It sounds like someone was looking out for you.......

Yup, we physically have a checklist, sort of aviation style. We don't care who is watching--the way we figure it, what's funnier--the folks with the clipboard or the RV'er towing their power cord behind them.

try your tv or microwave, a/c unit. Glad to hear your rig was not damaged.
You did not mention if there was damage to the camp equipment. Did it fare as well?

I have a night light plugged in right inside the door. It's what I use to tell if there is 120 volt power in the trailer after plugging in- in addition to providing a little light at night
