Getting geared up for first trip of the season. (Yes, a little late -- spring baseball w/ the kiddos ate up the spring.) Heading to Unicoi State Park near Helen, GA. Can't wait. Will post up some pics later.

That is definitely my game plan, though with work I don't think I'll be able to get up there until about 5pm. I hope that isn't too late. I'm not sure what the definition of "early" is for everyone!!!
Got up there at about 5pm on Friday night. Got spot #28 on the Big Brook Spur (full hookup) right next to the camp host in spot #29. Good spot -- plenty shady, nice and level, good fire pit and grill, decent amount of privacy. The road itself has a slight slope down and can be a bit tight for bigger rigs. Comfort station was clean and convenient.
Hiking, fishing and beach/swimming on Saturday, and then fishing on Sunday before heading back to Atl. Did lunch and dinner in Helen on Saturday. There was a car show of some sort -- tons of VW's and Audi's cruising around.
The Big Brook Spur had a decent amount of traffic up and down it. It might have just been the car show in town and people cruising the park, but it was somewhat noisy and busy -- more than I would have preferred but not a show stopper by any means.
Would definitely go back. Scenery was just beautiful. Mountains, lakes, streams, TONS of trees. Bet it is awesome in the fall w/ the foliage.
