I have a 1997 Ford F-250 3/4 ton 4X4 pickup ( with 53000 miles on it)The headlight plastic lens's were very yellow and to the touch they felt very rough. It looked like the lens had a yellow plastic mold on it....
I bought a 3M "Headlight Lens Restoration Kit" Number 39008 for $15 on line.
Today I read the directions, which were very clear and easy to understand. Then proceded to restore both front headlight lens's.
Total time was about 90 minutes.
The kit comes with a small buffing pad that fits into a 1/4" drill and 4 different pads that stick onto it.
1st is the yellow sanding disk, it took all the yellow stuff off and the plastic lens looked like it was cloudy.
2nd..is the white sanding disk, it made the plastic lens look a little clearer.
3rd is a grey pad that you put a little water on, and as you polish the lens you mist a little water with a spray bottle. This grey pad made the lens look pretty clear.
4th is the foam pad with some 3M polishing compound on it. This made the lens's look like new..I am amazed at how easy it was and how great the results are.
If you have gunky looking headlight lens's on your old rig.
I highly recommend the 3M #39008 "lens restoration kit"
I think it might be the best $15 dollars I have spent in a long time.
Just taking care of my old truck.....Happy RVing to all...

Mine went bad on my Dodge a couple of years ago. I think I may have caused my own problem though. I repeatedly waxed my headlight and now I'm thinking I may have removed some protective coating.
I found some stock looking (but not OEM/Dodge) and DOT approved replacements on-line and installed them three years ago. They still look great, work and fit perfect and were only $106 delivered to my door. So This may be another option.

Now, if you'd keep a regular regimen of rubbing '303'(SPF 40 for your things) on them, they might last a little longer. My '94 Dodge's are still clear as new.

I used the 3M on our 03 Accord and they came out great. It's pretty amazing to watch the transformation.
