lanerd wrote: At 75", that's 6 ft 3 in...right? Ok, so most people sleep with their head in the middle or maybe even further up on the pillow so you will lose 3 or 4 inches of the 6 ft 3 in. I think the last I heard, the average American male is around 5 ft 10 in.....which incidentally, I am.
So that 75" works out real good for the "average" male. Those of you who are a little (or more) longer do indeed need to investigate the bed lengths if you happen to sleep stretched out.....Of course, how many of us do that?

ME! I am 6' 3 1/2" We have a KING in our Jayco but it is an RV King so I sleep on a diagonal and cozy up to my wife who fits in the void nicely. God to think where I would be if I had not found the proper size woman for my trailer! LOL

We Love Our full Queen Bed as it allows Us to use Normal Queen Fitted Sheets. I'm Normal Height and I find the Short Beds Too Short for the way I apparently must sleep. Nothing worse than banging My Head or having My feet sticking out in the Cold night air!

It's all about the amount of space left over if a bedroom has 2 slides. When retracted--measure the space...not always enough room for an 80" bed set sideways with 2 deep slides. Our coach has one bedroom slide and our bed is an 80".
I have seen Murphy beds in Prevost rigs. The big "however" and why they aren't in other coaches is the space available from floor to ceiling. In most diesel coaches the distance from the hump over the engine takes up too much room for that style of bed.

You got no one to blame but yourself. You're the one that bought it! Im 5'10" but I wouldnt buy any RV with a bed that was only 48 inches long. Cuss yourself....tear it out and have a long bed built in it

I'm 6'5" and other than my California King at home there are no beds where my feet do not extend beyond the mattress edge. No big deal in my MH with the Queen bed. Never even think about it - the MH is warm/cool the way I like it and I'm sleeping!

Weathertodd221 wrote: im suprised more builders dont use murphy style beds since it really opens up the usable space. I need a seperate changing room and hate my bed is in the way. Im almost finished with my drawings to rearrange the space. Should give me a good 40sq ft of floor space.
I forget the brand, but I saw one once that had a murphy type bed in it. When the bed was up there was a table on the bottom side that folded down. So your bedroom could either be a bad, table, or open. This was on a gasser though and not a DP so they didn't have the engine back there. I also liked the Safari's that had the bed on a track that would raise up against the ceiling when not in use.

Nothing new about this. They have been doing it for years. Are you just discovering this. A lot of makers now list bed size in their spec sheets.
