I would suggest that you take a look at dealers that have one on ebay, then either call them or talk to your dealer about getting that one.

If you go onto Ford.com and spec you out a vehicle, then put in several dealers that are close by, you will get them calling you trying to get your business. I got about 10 phone calls when I was building mine.

We ordered an Edge in early april, it arrived about 5 weeks later. The incentives that were in effect when we ordered were still in effect when it arrived. Don't let ordering scare you, the 5 weeks flew by.

Thanks all, learning a lot.

I have combed dealers within 100 miles of my area and found none with the max payload. Went to their sites to check inventories, not that they are accurate but looked for pics and counted the lugs on the wheels to make sure ones they had pics for were/were not Max payload.

So my question is if you had and F150 with Max tow and Max Payload (already made up my mind I do not want a 5 1/2 bed) Would you feel comfortable towing a 9500 lb trailer?

Gas mileage is not the number one concern as most of our camping is within 1 to 2 hrs of where we live in PA. However, I want to make sure whatever I get is safe and can handle my trailer (which we just purchased this year) if we do the occasional trip to NC or SC.

I just really liked the comfort and feel of the EB but that is not my primary criteria for purchasing. This also will not be a daily driver and my current 2500HD only gets about 7k/year.
I am also looking into the f250's again.

Thanks again all.

No. Just because you can do something doesn't necessarily mean it's a good idea. I would definitely go with a 3/4 ton. As always.....opinions and YMMV.

Ordered mine in March and was told whatever discounts are available when I take delivary are in my favor would be applied. But they were in my favor when I ordered so those applied as they ended up being best for me. Was surprised as it only took 4 weeks from day of order. Also only way I know you can get the 36 gal tank is standard on 4x4 in that configuration as I tried to go with 2 wheel drive and it was not an option at the time.

There is a huge difference between a TT @ 9500 lbs. and a flatbed car hauler/Boat @ 9500 lbs. The big difference is wind resistance and tongue weight. I feel that 9000+ lb. TT's are in 3/4 ton territory, unless you plan to rarely tow (like to a seasonal site a half hour away).

After test driving the Ecoboost with a 6,000 lb. trailer, I have no doubt it can tug around 11,300 lbs, but just like in their commercials, a car hauler only. The TT is a whole different beast IMHO, also YMMV.
Good luck!

I believe Skip pulls around 8500 with good results. Personally I'd want a heavier truck for 9500, but then I need my truck to pull on longer multi day drives.

My only comment is to remember you are buying a brand new truck and you should be able to get EXACTLY what you want...do not settle for anything the dealer is trying to sell you on the lot.

Oh and drive a Tundra before you buy the Ecoboost--I've driven my brother-in-law's new Ecoboost and it did not compare IMO. I admit I'm a little biased but I really wanted to like his truck. I did like the integrated brake controller and the dash light color better but overall I did not like the feel of the engine or the ride of the truck.

OK, Obviously the do have the max payload for the EB. I talked to the dealer and they are unable at this point to locate one with the Max Payload. So if I want one I would have to order it. Unfortunately I would nto get most of the rebates. Right now there are 5k in rebates and I would only qulify for 1k in rebates.

You will get rebates based upon purchase date. Could be less, could be more. No telling what Ford marketing will be up to in 60 days.

Disagree on that. You should get the better of when you ordered or when you take delivery. That's the way my order worked.
